Endura4,

Start out by bending the clip out to 1/4" from the edge of the scales. Allows me to get the knife on the cuff of my pocket much easier, like when I am not paying attention to putting the knife back in my pocket.

These new scales are nice, fit and finish is perfect. The finish on these is polished, while the inside surface you can feel just a hint of the woven roven fabric of the carbon fiber. They call it print through when you can feel it.

Me personally would have been thrilled if this was flipped, but i know most of you like to have the surface smooth and free of the print through of the woven roven fabric on the outside surface your paw holds.

They came from Australia, company called VotixEDC.
I snagged these from his website, but I have seen them on etsy also.

Note: I always tape off the blade before taking things apart. I fix a tab to pull the tape off with on each side.

I install the small finger ring on this knife as it's quite handy for retrieving the knife from the pocket. It was snagged from Amazon. These make a great glass breaker when held correctly too...

I hone each end of the backlock spring before put this back together, there is quite the burr on them where they are sheared off. They work fine without doing this, I just like mine honed smooth lol.

Thanks Dan, just going to braille my way with this and see if I can tack some stuff up I chew on and maybe chew through lol. Thanks for the info and help too, by the way...

Edit: By the way, it would be OK with me if you guys up north of me would close the gate... This north wind you guys are letting blow my way, down here in Texas is cold. Just FYI with your gate left open, it got 6 degrees here this morning and that is enough of that! lol

DogTag - Carbon Fiber

Got a new DogTag Spyderco in today Carbon Fiber body is rally nice. Single side blade bevel of 28 degree best that I could get a good read on.

The woven roven fiber is very well laid and you not only see it, you can feel it as it has a print through, the final finish. Really like this finish.

Edit: I added a few more close up shots of this DogTag, another thing I was pleasantly surprised with, on opening and closing this knife, it has a very nice positive snap to it. It's just impressive how much is in something so little.

After adding the HD-split ring to the dawg tag lol, it wears so much better and it's easier on and off to use it. I wear this little beast on a stainless steel anchor chain, as the bead chains never last very long on me. I tend to snag them on something and the next thing they are Mia lol...

This thing is amazing how well it's made. At least from what I was expecting from checking them out, online pix only. I was totally off on this one. I am going to try and shoot a couple of closer more detailed pix and add them above. To much other stuff going on around here right now lol...

Manix2 XL - Crucarta

I attempted to snake the Micarta scales. Used MinWax wood stain and green Frogtape. Second knives I have done, just can't make the lines quite as sharp and clean from the stain leeching under the tape like I had hoped for...

Manix2 XL - Crucarta

Installed a OCD4EDC - Ball cage in green Titanium. Shot some close up views of all the nice teeth this Spyderco has for us to hold on better.

I also changed out the ball cage spring with what came with the OCD4EDC Kit, but I did leave my steel ball in the knife. This is an amazing knife.

I think they would be very handy . One sees pics of them but seldom have ever read much . I usually never have to worry much about what I carry but Dog Tag would be a nice discreet when there is a need . Thanks for info . Dan

I got mine around my neck everyday just in case lol. Heck I always have at least one knife on me too, but I just thought this was such a neat little beast. Now that I have it, it's way more knife than I ever expected Dan, with how it snaps open and closed, the movement of the blade is way Smooth too and very strong. You could drive a truck over this and not hurt it...

I sound like a salesman here I know, but it's very impressive for how small it is. Very few things impress me anymore. I got mine at NationalKnife, the last 10 or more knifes I have bought from them.

They wrap the knife box in a cloth cleaning rag, then box that up good and snug and ship to me and you get a cleaning or wipe down rag to boot.

No more mashed knife boxes. I like to keep my boxes too... I know there is a name with several initials for the disease I have, but I am to old to worry about fixing that now lol.

ManBug - SE - Wharncliffe

This little knife is really solid for its size. Been wanting one of these in the SE blade. Quite a serious little knife.
The 9mm round fits right in the thumbhole lol.

Salt 2 - SE - Wharncliffe

Super lightweight with 3" blade. Love the lime green scales. The SE blade is a real ripper. Big full size thumbhole in the blade with this small knife is a plus too.

SpyOpera - Carbon Fiber scales finished smooth, with no hint of print through. Extraordinarily unique hardware on these knives from Maniago Italy.

Still uses a Torx drive, just a totally different countersunk head design. Really nice hardware, I would have no idea where to obtain anything like them either, never seen anything like these... DS93X THOR Damascus LionSteel blade.

These knifes are finished completely different from our others, all the edges of the liners, back spacer, latch bolt and the spine of the blade all are finished with a slight rounded edge and mark free like a soda blast finish, then the parts are all put together to assemble the knife.

Military 2 - Carbon Fiber scales sprint run S90V steel. The peel ply texture of the carbon fiber is really nice, no hint of print through of the fiber with these it's all about the peel ply texture.

Simply awesome knife here, simply tied up a tug strap for it and put her in my pocket right after it was honed and polished at 17 dps... This S90V will get nasty sharp too!

Siren - Sprint Run with Carbon Fiber scales with peel ply texture and S90V steel. I did quite a bit of work on this knife with it being such a great knife, I just couldn't get my thumb in balance with the small relief cut in the scales to access the thumbhole.

So I took a die grinder and cut out quite a bit of the scales in the affected area. I really needed to shoot a few pix of the new knife before all this...

Then once I had the access to the thumbhole in the blade, it too; was somewhat small for my thumb and at this point I just figure I was all in for a Siren that was going to work for me lol.

I took a carbide burr and a die grinder to the thumbhole in the blade as well and opened it up. Taking nothing from the spine side of the hole. I rounded it out to 13.5mm...

At this point this Siren is quite the knife if you have bigger hands anyway. I know it changed up the whole mechanical feel of the knife for me.

The S90V blade steel hones out to a scary sharp edge and it has been quite corrosion resistant. One of my more favorite knifes now.

Sage 5 - Burnt Orange G-10 Scales peel ply texture, with REX121 blade steel. This knife has pan head screws that the scales on and the heads are bigger. Really nice hardware.

The REX121 blade is really the eye piece to this knife. It's a little short on length for my favorite sort of knife blade length, but this steel does hold an edge really superior to any other steel I have...

Native Chief - with the S30V blade steel. Really like the 4" blade on this knife, just had a hard time getting my thumb in a good position to open the knife.

So, this really nice knife too, fell victim to my die grinder. I cut the area out quite a bit to gain better access to the thumbhole in the blade.

I then cut relief in the scales for the blade lock bar, this allows the knife blade to drop freely once pressed now, and the Axle bolt is set up to do so... This knife rocks now!!!
