I can confirm the CQI FRN model is still hollow ground

Re: Centofante 3 - New - Not pinned anymore !?
Love seeing another positive experience with the Centofante 3. Agree on timing of the CQI.
I first picked this model up about 8 months ago and it has taken the lion's share of pocket time since.
Thin, slicey, handle forward, negative blade angle. Lots to love.
Glad I gave it a chance.

Re: Blade to Handle Efficiency?
I myself am more interested in maximizing sharpened edge for a given blade length by minimizing dead space/ricasso area- Polestar, Bodacious, Centofante 3 for example.
But even then, I recognize that some designs are better WITH a choil- Chaparral, Lil' Native.

Re: Discontinued for 2026
@LazyOutdoorsman the way it is presented, I would assume the BD1N lines are safe.
M4/S35VN- I wonder how much of these being discontinued is due to Crucible bankruptcy and the resulting supply chain challenges?

Mid backlock for me.
Caribbean and Bodacious seem to have your comp lock bases covered.

mikey177 nice job with the bump. I completely forgot about this as well.
I believe the purpose was two fold- the polestar is a great design that doesn't get much love, and there are few backlocks with a "edge all the way to the handle" design.

Re: Hunters!
Folder vs fixed blade is a debate that will never end.
If you carry a folder, something worth considering is general safety when in use and when being carried. I opt for a backlock due to good bias to close and probably overblown concerns of detent based lock types accidentally opening if carried ...

Re: Lil Native Lightweight
My impression is that its a more neutral equivalent to the dragonfly- both in blade shape and handle ergos. Grip area length feels about the same/more confidence inspiring.

Re: Destroyed Pants
I do some office droning. Agree with smooth (or at least smoother) handle recommendation. Roadie XL, UKPK, Centofante 3 (if not a hard 3in rule... its close enough).

@TkoK83Spy - that lockbar alignment isdefinitely not normal for the model. I picked up an uncoated lil native lw and the lockbar is flush with open and closed position. Your example seems pretty extreme.

Re: Reveal 19 - Live!
Smart strategic reveal with new models to compete in the budget space.
Something that struck me on my second look through the reveal- the ButtonUp is LIGHT. 2.1oz for a 3.3in blade seems pretty impressive.

Re: H1Spyderco Machete?
+1 for Silky's handle designs (replaceable rubber).
I also think their saw sheath designs are simple, probably low cost, and effective.
With them being based in Japan (like H2...) and in the commercial/serious consumer saw/big knife market i wonder if a collaboration is in order?

Same as Evil D .
Only difference- when I resharpened with 15deg on grind side/as shallow as possible on the non-grind side I had edge damage again.
When I resharpened with 15deg on grind side/15deg on the non-grind side the problems went away. Not sure if this was bc of the angle change or ...

Centofante 3 FRN CQI Screws
Body- M1.4 x 0.3mm thread. I used 4mm thread length and it worked fine. Goofy size, especially the factory T5 torx button head. Ended up getting allen socket head screws from mcmaster
Note- the cruwear carbon fiber distributor exclusive has different body screw sizing.

Re: Where the Heck Are the Lil' Native Lightweights?
I agree there are similarities with the chaparral FRN and this model. But... enough differences that could help tip the scales one way or the other. Blade length under 2.5in is the biggest, if that matter, and humpless design.
I have both (chappie SE) and I'll be keeping both.
For the.... nerds ...

Re: Where the Heck Are the Lil' Native Lightweights?
cjk here you go. I received my lil native LW a few days ago. It had a little squeak on closing so that was all the reason I needed to take it apart and check it out.
I'm not a good photographer but figured this is better than nothing.
