Re: Temperance 2... in 15v?

Hi Carpdiem,

Probably a real long shot. It doesn't look like we are going to me able to get any more of Shawn's 15V and what we have has already been earmarked. If it were possible to squeeze in a sprint version of that model with a different steel, what would work for you? Perhaps to "seize ...

Re: Will MagnaMax be the next Mule?

I will get a MagnaMax in PE and maybe an SE too just for the fact that its an SE Mule. I did get two MagnaCut Mules when they dropped, it was a nightmare of a crashing site, but got the order in. Any thoughts how this drop will go? Will demand be as high as MagnaCut was?

Was it worse than the ...

I like her, I’ve been a subscriber since cedric and ada gear shouted her out (so like 2 or 3 years ish). I’ve seen her tastes grow and change (from the days when magna-cut first arrived on the scene), what I find really cool about her love for steel is that she arrived at her conclusions kind of ...

I emailed her, added a link to this thread and invited her to join. I said that the group would enjoy her presence. I'm assuming that she received the email? No response.

Re: Help me defend "super steel" again

As someone just kind of an every day user, I like high-wear resistant vanadium rich powdered steels because I don’t have a ton of time for sharpening.

They are pretty easy to touch up on diamond abrasives at high hardness they are very easy to deburr. They hold both a keen edge and working edge ...

Re: What do you see differently about Spyderco than other companies.

I feel like Sal and Eric enjoy making knives as tools that people will use, and that love permeates the products they make and bring to market.

As a company I think spyderco is more willing to ask it’s customers what they want, and to explore exotic steels that previously only would be available ...

Closer to K390 but stainless.

Hoss
That would make entire families of knife steel obsolescent. Unless they can be treated to a higher hardness.

Re: CPM Prototype Steel

Was it produced in a full sized smelt or in small research batch?

Hi Electro-Static,

As I understand, it was a limited test batch sent to a number of players for feedback. I don't know who received samples, but I would guess samples went to all of the potential customers for the steel. Shawn ...
