MG2, I never had any interest in a Cricket. None. Then I got a deal on this vintage one, and now I can't put it down. Remarkable little knife!Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 12:00 pmNice to see a knife rarely posted , ATS-55 too . MG2

Thanks for posting this info, TazKristi. This is a nit, but your 2nd post specifies 9:00 A.M. MDT. Should be MST, as in your first post.

Re: Favorite Lock?
I would be fine if all my knives had back locks. I want to purposefully and deliberately control every movement of the blade throughout its entire arc, opening and closing, with no flesh in the way. I'm most comfortable doing this with a backlock. My second favorite is probably Spyderco's rendition ...

Re: Spyderco "Custom Shop " ?
A lot of that is time-consuming handwork that would have to be handled by their most experienced workers, mostly the prototyper and the warranty and repair guy. After all, no one wants their custom work done by the new day labor guy who was frying burgers last week. If those two highly skilled and ...

Re: Spyderco "Custom Shop " ?
I'm so new to the forum that I hadn't seen any prior threads, and thus thought this was a good idea. Services that Spyderco customers might use, even though most are readily do-able DIY: -- Blade re-profiling, e.g. putting a more acute tip on a Pac Salt or Endura -- Reduced edge bevel angles -- High...

Re: The most "standard" spyderco pocket knife in 2022 ?
If you consider "standard" to mean most-purchased or most-carried, I bet it's the Delica. But for "most-allround," I'd vote (and did vote, with my pocketbook) for the Pacific Salt, in any of its forms. Like Wartstein, I like FRN, lightness, and a longer edge. Plus the Salt series...

Re: Autonomy 2 storage
I purchased mine from DLT. Took a few attempts as they were getting them in small batches and selling out quick. It's a beefier knife than I expected. I'm impressed that it opens with authority but doesn't try to torque itself out of your hand like a few other autos I've had. Thanks! I'm a lefty, h...

Re: Low End Spyderco Knives
This thread is making me want to buy a Chinese-made Spyderco, just to see what's wrong with them. Slavery? Well, I guess if I were to take that stand anywhere, it would be at Chinese knives. Wouldn't want to give up my computers, phone, clothes, auto parts, plumbing fixtures, etc... You've pulled m...

Re: Autonomy 2 storage
Just a funny irony. I referenced by garage door spring earlier as a learning opportunity. Well after over a decade, it broke again this week. Maybe it will be another learning opportunity, or I'll use it's sacrifice as an excuse to purchase the Autonomy 2 and learn the lesson and buy a replacement ...

Re: Bad quality control
Two questions: The Mule Team sheath is Kydex? And second, I've long wondered how a plastic sheath can scratch a steel blade. I'm not denying that it happens, just wondering how.

Re: FRN Civilian?
I'd buy a Civilian FRN in a heartbeat. In the meantime, I'd be happy with a Matriarch Salt, as described in a thread I've seen recently.

Re: Would you buy a VG10 knife in 2022?
I bought one today! If I'm honest with myself, VG-10 and either H1 or LC are all I need. Of the boring steels, VG-10 is hard to beat. Okay, S30V beats it, and it's boring, but I feel the same way about it.

Re: Reverse S Keychain Knives
As a noob both to this forum and to keychain knives, I'm curious what you use yours for. I bought a Ladybug a few months ago, and haven't used it even once. I find myself using whichever larger knife is nearby, and there's always a larger knife nearby.

Re: 2022 Knives for 2023
1) Police 4 Salt, both edge types. Maybe Magnacut.
2) Caribbean, Evil D sheepcliffe pattern. Or alternatively, Pac Salt in the same sheepcliffe pattern. In fact, that might be better.
3) More-Than-Enuff Salt.
4) Waterway SE.
5) White FRN aftermarket handles.
