Re: Dock Worker Strike Effect On Spyderco?
Solidarity with striking workers! Longshoremen, Boeing, and any others - the squeeze is the point, and unlike so many other inconveniences etc. in life, any arising from the essential need to ensure worker's power are a price I am proud to pay. I suspect I am not alone in this, even here

Re: Handle forward/lock mashup ideas
My entry was inspired by Vivi actually and his hand-drawn design for a modified Manix and his current infatuation with the Resilience. Did you see my Vivi-inspired sketch for a choil-less Native Chief? Lotta edge there, my friends. No you do NOT want to drop the blade on your forefinger to close it ...

Re: Upcoming P.I.T.S. 2
came here to bump this thread. agree with the above. for me, this design is leagues above the pits aesthetically. if it's in a vaguely affordable range should it make it to production, i will take one. there are a million versions of 'perfect,' but for my money, this looks like one of them. looking ...

Re: National Knife Day GAW!
My favorite Spyderco is my first, the Wolfspyder. It was a christmas present from my fiance, and the first high quality pocket knife I'd ever owned. I still love everything about it, from use to aesthetics. It has a ton of useable edge for its small size, it's comfortable in hand in every position ...

patina vs. carbon migration: advantages?
was cleaning some different old folders' springs using evaporust and, like many before me, accidentally discovered the phenomenon of carbon migration. i thought the darkening effect it produced was very attractive, and judging from the amount of elbow grease and flitz it took to remove it from the ...

Re: Good second Spyderco
This is all super helpful. Except now I want to buy five more knives! I’ll use for general purpose. Cutting boxes, rope, etc. I wear jeans and shorts a lot - so I need something that would fit in my pocket. I’d like to spend $125-150 I'm biased, but I'd point you in the direction of a dragonfly per ...

Re: Calypso Jr Sprint Run Considerations
a fish scale frn 'larger dragonfly' is the knife that would make me spend money i don't have. go forest/blue-green for the handle and i'm a lock in, basically regardless of the steel. s90v, cruwear, hap40, k390 would all be equally nice, as would a dozen others in the 4v and above range. i love this ...

Re: A step into the modern world with the Lil Native / thoughts
Here it sits next to my previous EDC, a Nontron Violon Slipjoint from France. i lose my mind every time i see someone else's nontron. they've been at the top of my most wanted list for at least half a decade now and the import prices are so steep i can never justify pulling the trigger, and they're ...

Re: Good second Spyderco
Hi all, I’m new here. I just picked up a Pacific Salt 2 for boating and really love it. Now I’ve got the bug and want an EDC. What’s the right second knife? I was looking at a Delica 4 SG or maybe Para 3. Would love any recommendations. Thanks! hi joel, you've got water environments covered with the ...

Re: Bodacious Update?
At a $260 street price this is pretty firmly out of the “working tool” category. It does look nice though. agreed in spirit. it's a matter of assumptions: i'm referring to evident design intent (vs, say, knives explicitly designed as weapons, or for decor/collecting/accessorizing). you're referring ...

Re: Bodacious Update?
Just wanted to share that I think this is a really beautiful design for a working tool. The diagonal grind taper over the opening hole is such a nice touch. The handle-forward on this one looks like the most well executed of any model yet. I'm excited to see them out there. I cannot justify the cost ...

Re: My on going salt steel comparison journal
Great thread windward, super fun to read and learn from. I was interested in understanding more about your opinion of LC200N vs. H1/2 in SE. Is the key difference that you've found H1 cuts longer in SE, setting it apart as the better steel? Or is it that plus the small amount of rust you found once ...

Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!
I did not have the fortune of disposable income to spend on this mule, which I've looked forward to for some time. This is one of the most interesting objects Spyderco's released, and I imagine it was challenging to manufacture. I think it's fantastic it was developed and offered for testing, and ...

traditional folder pocket sheaths?
Looking for recommendations - I know I have seen small sheaths with pocket clips for carrying traditional folders in the past. I haven't been able to find anything I remember now, however, and only have seen one or two makers. Who/where am I missing? Second, is there anywhere besides theebay or AAPK ...

Re: Looking for thoughts on Caly 3.5 vs. GB2
For me, the GB2 may be the best general knife Spyderco makes. I didn't realize how much I appreciate and apparently prefer a semi-neutral handle until I owned it. It's the most comfortable Spyderco knife I own, all of its angles/lines work to make using the blade intuitive and effective. The hollow ...

this is disappointing news. the wolfspyder remains my #1 pocket knife of all, and was very excited to see what a v2 would involve.
