Pacific Salt Magnacut Caribbean Handle

I use salts for their intended purpose. In the ocean, on the ocean, near the ocean. I've been using them since 2009. Frankly put, the Pacific Salt is the greatest knife ever created for actual work on the water. I've tried the new fancy Caribbean scaled Paramilitarys and such. They are great, well ...

Re: would love to see more orange handles on folded and fixed blades alike

Yea me too. I bought some black FRN takeoffs from someone for my new Sage Salt so it’s less noticeable for around town carry.

Re: would love to see more orange handles on folded and fixed blades alike

I thought for sure when they announced Magnacut was going into the Salt line, they would make the handles orange to make it different from the H2 and LC200N, but no they went with Yellow again. I like yellow but orange is a great color.

Re: Salty Dreams Poll

I have been posting as much as I can about my salt dream. The most versatile salt knife Spyderco makes (and yes I have a lot) for water use, work, dirty work, actual work around water is the Pacific Salt. I want it in Magnacut and I want the handle to be constructed **** near identical to the Siren ...

What mango colored ones are you referring to?

Drawn this way, the tip sits about 3/16" below the top of the handle.

I had plenty of wharncliffe experience back when my only knife was a Kershaw Leek (that was before I found Spyderco). I prefer some belly for almost everything I do.

Does ANYONE know where still hasn’t sold out? I had it in my cart when bhq dropped them and as I’m checking out the page reloaded and bam sold out

Knives Ship Free had some, very briefly. I had one in my cart but the knife went OOS again, by the time I entered payment info and tried to check out. This sure is “fun”.
Yea same here. I got the email. IMMEDIATELY went as fast as possible and it was sold out.

Re: Pacific Salt in Magnacut, with a handle like the Siren.

The Siren is one of my favorite knives , I definitely would like to see a Magnacut blade . Actually would love to see a longer blade version . MG2

count me in for a Siren XL. While I love just about everything with the design, the handle has always felt a little small for me, which is the ...

Re: Pacific Salt in Magnacut, with a handle like the Siren.

Are we talking the Pacific Salt’s hollow-grind in SE MagnaCut, and the Siren’s choil-less finger-guarding handle in addition to its grippy G10?

So when i say "built like the Siren", i'm just referring to the linerless G10 with high texture. It would still be a Pacific Salt in all regards.

If ...

Re: Pacific Salt in Magnacut, with a handle like the Siren.

Not having handled a Siren, but having the usual experience with textured G10 I'm surprised that you find that superior to the FRN texturing. Is the Siren G10 more heavily textured than typical G10? Or by 'solid in the hand' do you mean something other than texturing? Do you and co-workers prefer ...

Pacific Salt in Magnacut, with a handle like the Siren.

I am checking to see if this can get some momentum going. I'm a working diver on a boat and salt's are the only knives we use. H1 Atlantics in the water and LC200N Pacific Salts on the deck. LC200N is a great steel but having more edge retention would be useful since poly line is pretty brutal. Also ...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion Resistance testing thread

I finally finished my magnacut mule for in water use. I replaced the stainless hardware (from the Halpern scales) with G10 rods and glued it all together with marine grade epoxy so its all sealed from water getting in. I'm not a professional knife maker, so it's not perfect, but it works really well ...

Re: The Vivi Conundrum.

Here is my magnacut Pacific Salt request.
1. The simpliest option is just to add a magnacut version to mix and keep everything else the same. Maybe the bright orange handle to make it different than the H1 and LC200N. But whatever color is fine.
2. My ideal knife would be this. I would want it to ...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion Resistance testing thread

I took my magnacut mule for a dive a week ago. It has stock scales in place. After the dive I gave it a fresh water rinse. I took the scales off yesterday and there was “corrosion”. I wasn’t thinking and didn’t take pictures. I scrubbed it off with a scothbrite pad. I can only see a couple small ...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion Resistance testing thread

Thanx Lance.

Hi Crox,

Spyderco is constantly testing corrosion in any possible situation. That's how we learn and improve. Coming out with a production knife that will reliably work for the user in salt water environments, as not an easy endeavor. Gail and I sought that solution for decades ...

Why did the classic Police SS move to screws or whatever it is, you can’t change the classic look. It completely changes the lines and aesthetic of the knife.

Re: People still like Benchmade?

One thing I've always found to be strange about Benchmade is that they literally passed up a great opportunity that Spyderco in turn truly capitalized on it. Benchmade actually did a blade with H-1 way before Spyderco launched their H-1 Salt Series. Way back around late 2001 Benchmade came out ...
