Re: Stainless steel that behaves like a carbon steel

My Japanese kitchen knives in Ginsan or Ginsanko sharpen up on the stones with a feel just like my blue steel carbon blades.

Re: Pacific Salt video review (kayak fishing)

Thanks gringo. Pac salt a favorite of mine over last 9 years. What do you think of the inner portion of the scales of the upcoming new version of these Salts? Seems like there would be a lot of fish gunk accumulating in all those nooks and crannies...

I think that the blade did not get chipped, nor the clip broken, from the mere act of being carried. What did the chipping and what did the breaking?

All my spydies can do day-to-day EDC stuff well enough, but when I have some real cutting tasks to accomplish, I usually grab a Military.

Agreed. I've previously bought several Millies but never warmed to them for EDC. They are my go-to, however, for use around the house.

There are Spydercos ...

Paperstone has a really nice feel to it, almost comforting to the touch. I've handled it on a few Buck knives and other "old fashioned" folders. I'm not sure how it wears, but it polishes up real nice and while I haven't ever handled paper micarta, it gives me a similar sense of satisfaction as a ...

Updates to Salt folders?

Just picked up a new P Salt and (i) there is a new hourglass clip I havent seen before and (ii) the lockup is tight with zero vertical blade play.

Just wondering, aside from the new hourglass clips: what updates have been made? The lockup is so good i wouldnt be surprised if the blade/lock ...

black clips

its quite simple:

black clips, satin stainless clips, and shiny stainless clips have their unique roles.

as far as the military or paramilitary are concerned, the most appropriate clip choices are black and satin stainless, in that order. polished stainless is the least desirable on a military ...

Hi Joe,

This seems to be a popular question. Spyderco is experimenting with lower margins on some models to see if the lower retail price will increase volume sufficiently to carry the difference.

lots of overreactions to kristis statement going on here.

all she was trying to do was to avoid having all of the "mod talk" that goes on in the forum from being held against spyderco if a customer had his warranty rejected "for something i learned on the spyderco forum."

it's a CYA move for ...

I wanted a slightly deeper carry on my para1 so tapped some new holes and put this one on. It will not fit into the factory clip holes on the para2.
As soon as my para2 arrives I will be tapping some new holes and put this same clip on it.
I love the black plated clips and as they wear they look ...

The Para-Military2 Clip

I agree with some of the posters that the new clip for the PM2 looks a bit out of place on the knife. Too "sports car", less "jeep". Also, its apparent that the shape of the clip was designed to have a lanyard hole like the delica--so it looks a bit silly without one. Spyderco makes a similar clip ...
