Re: Has anyone successfully used a Sharpmaker and ceramic rods to “sharpen” K390?

Yes. In fact I was surprised at how quickly and easily it was shaving hair after a few 40 degree passes. Impressive sharpening response IMO.

I’m projecting here, but loving the fact that it’s a Sage 5 lw more so than the specific steel.

Re: Guided angle sharpening systems with FFG spyderco blades?

KME here, used for reprofiling or evening out a factory edge. I use the Sharpmaker for touch ups as it’s a much quicker process. The clamp on the KME is well engineered for FFG. No hinges, the screw down presses all components together on the blade and if you set it in the proper manner will clamp t...

Re: K390 blue is awesome !

To me the k390 color appears to be an almost perfect blend between the spy27 cobalt blue and the teal RIT dye I used on my SS stretch. ........... In indirect natural light: https://i.imgur.com/0bJBZYJ.jpg The second picture(indirect light) captures the true colour almost perfectly. Good job ! Agre...

Re: K390 blue is awesome !

Those pics above lean towards teal to my eyes, perhaps the lighting. My copy seems darker. Gray meets sky blue. I didn’t care for it much when I got my ladybug last spring but carrying my Endela over the past week it’s growing on me a lot. So is the model which I had never tried before.

Brouwer in the pocket today. It's supposed to be 65 degrees later, and my Christmas tree is up...just doesn't feel right for the Midwest!

Agreed. Same weirdness where I am. Been a strange fall/early winter capping off an even odder year.

Great pic!

Re: Spyderco Standard Clip vs. Lynch vs. MXG Gear

I have both MXG and Lynch clips. I've never had any issue with either of them. I prefer Lynch because of my customer service experiences with the owner (going back to when he was just selling them on BF). He's a stand up guy who will bend over backward to make his customers (us) happy. This. When t...

Re: Poll: How do you carry your Spyderco Dragonfly?

Around the house, I drop it into my front pocket. I think the frn texture keeps it from falling out? I also like to use the shorter wire clip on other knives, so I have extra incentive to buy more dragonflies and carry them clipless :D And - with jeans, the fifth pocket works great. You will not ha...

Re: Poll: How do you carry your Spyderco Dragonfly?

Loose in pocket. It's too small, light, and weak retention wire clip. Not a bit of rust or corrosion that I could see. A light dousing with CLP and a little Tuf Glide should do the trick. I really hope I’m not the only one here that pulls these bonehead stunts! I've had dozens of non stainless blad...

One more for clipped into jean’s watch pockets. I thought I’d lost my fairly new K-390 until I pulled some clean pants from the closet before coming to work tonight. There it was, still clipped in the watchpocket after a trip through the washer and dryer.
Yikes! Any rust?

Re: Poll: How do you carry your Spyderco Dragonfly?

Clip removed these days. I find it’s small size makes the pocket clip unnecessary. This discovery bumped the dragonfly up to one of my most carried and favorite designs. Either loose in front pocket or loose in 5th pocket as a secondary. Former with shorts in the summer, latter with long pants. My o...

Re: Left handed PM2

I use both above described ways to unlock the standard with my dominant left hand. I find the fall onto index finger method the most reliable but it’s all just much less satisfying than when I use my right hand to close it in the standard way. So much so that I’ve been considering the LH version. As...
