Re: How to remedy blade hitting the leaf spring?

Below is a pic of my Manix 2 Salt in all black dress, nick named black widow lol, if we could just get the Spyder on the blade in red, then it would be for sure.

Re: Bodacious Discussion

I think making at least R2 radious on handle instead 0,5 mm x 45° chamfer would help.

I wish we had clarification (not speculation) on why the the other two designs provide for tip-down carry, but not the Bodacious. From your ...

I'd buy that. 4-way clip.

Re: Bodacious Discussion

The flatness is not that bad in real life though I did add a slight chamfer and shortened the finger guard a bit on my SPY27 Bodacious. Wasn't necessary but made it more comfy.

On the other hand I do have replacement scales for both my DLC and SPY27 versions and an additional set of AWT scales en ...

Re: When Is the new coating coming out?

Hi Capt.Carl,

We've been using it on parts like clips and liners. The first blade coating model is in-the-works right now,

sal

This is good news that potentially addresses a minor gripe I have expressed in the past about the black paint used on clips being soft and quickly showing wear.

I ...

My mate says her personal preference, and that of many University of Tennessee Volunteer female fans, is, rephrased in polite terms, to avoid UT Orange in anything to be worn or carried. Very small amounts can be used as an accent color.

Yeah Magpul sure that'll work.

Re: China

Spyderco only owns the manufacturing for its knives made in the US. Knives made in other countries are made by manufacturing partners. Maybe it is worth considering also using other US manufacturers under whatever circumstances Spyderco deems appropriate.

For one example, I was just reading about ...

I get grouchy every time I see a picture of the Shaman with tip-down clip holes beside the Bodacious with none - a decision I hope goes the other way if a Bodacious LW ever gets made.

But just thought about this, what about a Bodacious wharncliffe? Is there enough room in the handle?
Just saw a custom ti knife that has a silhouette that vaguely reminded me of the Bodacious but had a sheepsfoot blade

Not unless they made the blade short enough to clear the end of the back ...

I've seen a lot of blade trader folders over the years, but I've never paid my hard-earned dollars for one. Never seen one I'd trust. But then, I don't mind a 3" blade in a 5" handle, either.
If you did see one you thought you could trust, would you be interested?

Re: Blade to Handle Efficiency?

What is wanted in a blade under some set of circumstances may not match what the user would like in the way of a handle.

Spyderco could use (select or create) a lock design that allows for changing blades in a simple way - easier than disassembling the knife. Then they pick a customer-favorite ...

Re: China

It's a personal choice up to the business owners, for a privately held business.

Before I retired, for a few years I was the head of a line of business at a global corporation. We (my area, my responsibility) had about $100,000,000 in average annual global sales. The only thing I intensely disliked ...

One explanation is that the Sage is a smaller knife (shorter blade and shorter handle) than the Manix and PM2's. As a result, you'll generate less leverage when you apply lateral force, and are less likely to break it.
A smaller opening hole also makes a difference.

He also said the metal cutting boards were loud and not pleasant-feeling ...

The thing that strikes me, reading this thread, is how many people still seem to carry loose change in their pocket.

Hi Hermit,

The Bodacious doesn't have a finger choil which is really a safety feature for Slipits.

Thanks, Sal! I certainly appreciate the role of the finger choil as a safety feature in the UKPK. You are using the finger choil to increase safety during use in slip joint designs, and my ...
