A little help if you please

#1

Post by RAT 54 »

Hi all,

Could someone please let me know what the blades in the attached picture are?

The seller says Delica and Dragonfly. He says the steel is AUS-8 and AUS-8A, lengths are 170mm opened and 135mm long opened.

The bottom one looks like a Dragonfly but the top one??? The rounded point

Thanks in advance.

The bottom one is the first incarnation of the Dragonfly, an experimental model if you will. The top one does indeed look like an old Delica model (integral FRN clip) with simply a broken/reground tip.

I would especially keep the dragonfly, as its condition looks good enough to gain collector value.

Yep, 1st Generation Dragonfly and slightly damaged but neatly repaired Delica. I agree with Wouter - the early D'flys are bound to become collectors pieces, I just snagged a SE (which is marked G-2 stainless), still looking for a PE. If you like CE and integral FRN clips, and the price is right, that Delica looks to be a decent user.

Older Delica with reground blade tip. Looks just like mine. Someone broke the tip off, reground it, I bought it, works fine for me. I use it edc. Nice Dragonfly, older model, no "dent" on either one.
