I say make the Yo remix and the yo 2. We can call the CBBL version the Yo1.5 and the new one the Yo2.0

Nice looking design! It would be interesting to see how the real Yo2 differs as well as the similarities.

I got to handle the Yojimbo 2 prototype today at Martial Blade Camp 2010. It is incredible! No photos were allowed so don't ask. This thing is going to be amazing.

Training w/ Mr Janich was the primary reason I wanted to go. Meeting other MBCers was the 2nd, and the possibility of seeing protos was the third reason. I'm glad for you, but insanely jealous. Have fun down there!

I have yet to experience Spyderco's CBBL. I believe that will change when the new Yojimbo is released. :D

There are some significant differences and in my opinion they all make the Yo2 a much better knife than the original. I don't know what is and isn't considered sensitive information so I am not going to give details. I just know that this thing is a beautiful knife with many strong qualities, a SOLID lock up and some fantastic improvements.

How did I miss this thread the first time around? Really nice re-design Roman and nice rendering Spydo! That would be awesome if the Yojimbo would be refined with a ball lock, caged or not. The digi-camo is also a really nice look, I would be down for one in a heart beat!

The main differences I would assume with the Yo2 would be: 1) less compromises with ergos to make it "thumpalicious" (paraphrasing the words of the designer), and 2) less ergo compromises to give fan service to those that still insist on using a Saber Grip (life sucks, wear a hat), with a bit of extra 3) a series of other tweaks based upon feedback from other designs he has made in the more recent past.

I'm quite certain that it will rock our socks but keep an open mind on this one, y'all. If you expect nothing but a Yojimbo with a CBBL then you're going to: 1) be disappointed out the gate with its looks, 2) not look at the design objectively to see that it really is better overall, and 3) end up starting a bunch of threads about how much it sucks...until you try messing around with it a bit and you come back to us with your tail between your legs saying that you were wrong. Mr. Janich doesn't make sucky knives...full stop.

Sal did say "Sexy!" as his first impression and how often has he let us down?

For me the original Yo is such a great knife. Quick, precise, comfortable and simple. Never have I owned a knife that I can utilize inertial openings so effortlessly. I still remember when I first bought the original Yo the ergos were unlike any other. I thank spyderco for the support it's production in high quality materials. I excitedly anticipating the next one from what everyone has said.
