"Something I still don't get is the love so many people seem to have for small folders"

Its not love, its law.
Its just part of disarming the world.
What would happen if the sheep decided to defend themselves?
Never imagined it would trickle down to knifes though.......

Back on topic......

I am happy to see:

The blue Manix that will be coming with the flat ground S30V blade and skeletonized liners that greatly reduce the weight.

An extra large Lum Chinese folder with a “peel ply” carbon fiber handle which has a very smooth finish and VG10 steel blades.

& 2 Brown Matriarch's. :)

More S90v & CF please.......

I'm glad to hear that there will be a sprint run of the original large Persian. I'm also glad that the handle material will be different as it gives me an excuse to buy another one and also because for some reason, I'm not that crazy about the original Persian's micarta handle. I'd prefer G10 or FRN which to me ,seems to offer a more secure grip.
If it's not guache to mention this on Spyderco's site; I also have the Emerson Persian and [ I know you CS haters are going to scoff] the CS Scimitar, which is made out of cheaper materials than the Spyderco and Emerson Persians, but is still a wicked example of the type.
Just had an idea; how about Spyderco making a fixed blade Persian?

No clue on the fixed Persian but it sounds like it would be cool. A nice trailing point/upswept is the Spyderco Moran FB01.

As for the sprint I think they are leaning to another color of Micarta or some type of bone/stone handle scales. It's a gentleman's folder so I dont think G10 would make as many fans.

I was told this by someone who handled one at SHOT: A very small (under 2") Barong like leaf bladed knife that surprisingly fit well in the hand, designed by Ed I think.

I don't think confirmed. However Sal did acknowledge such a possible venture so it's a step in the right direction.

If you can hear me Sal.....PLEASE reintroduce the Dodo. Maybe a S90V/CF/ball-lock or a mini version in VG-10/G-10/slipjoint. Heck, even a 8CR13MOV/FRN/lockback would do. Might as well do all those and I will buy them all. I think its a great knife for a slipjoint as all of your tasks will put force on the blade and not the spine.

Sharpeners count right ?

Not a bother at all :)

I don't have any new leads that aren't listed on the first page. Last I heard (a couple months ago) Sal was carrying the prototype around. I don't think it was at the spot show based on the few videos and blogs I checked out. That doesn't mean it won't appear out of thin air though soon.

Great question. That 4-way clip redesigned Para2 is going to rock!

Sorry not yet sadly :( I'm pretty rabid for updates. That said, I occasionally miss something.

If you guys see something feel free to tag it and I'll update the main page. Thanks for the interest.

I saw this on Bladeforums about a leaf-shaped Swick 2:

Hi Marion, it's a little longer than the Swick 1 with the warncliffe. It has an S30V full flat ground leaf shape blade, built and on the shelf. 500 pcs. Swick2. We also added holes to the tang so a handle could be added, kinda like the Mule Team.
