Definitely different, but it is one sweet little :spyder: . It's gonna spend a lot of time in my pocket ;) :D

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

i'm pretty intrigued by the khukuri... especially after seeing how awesome ed's "oddball" barong design performs. may have to get one soon. seems like we're in a second spyderco "golden age."

i also just can't wait for the FG, FFG smith... :D

I've had mine since Christmas day and it has not left my pocket. As has already been said, F&F is top notch and the liner lock is outstanding. Overall size is just slightly longer than a delica with the cutting edge being the same. The slimness and ergos are the real winners on this design though. I am also a fan of recurves and this one has just a slight recurve to it along with the big belly and nice, pointy tip. The G-10 handles, big choil and open back design are big pluses for me as well.

Overall, yeah, I love it. It is every bit as functional and robust as the G-10 Delica or Caly III with a slightly different flavor or accent if you will. The D-4 is kind of tough guy/country boy/blue collar, the G-10 Caly III is more upscale/urban/refined and the Khuk is a combination of both with a nice dose of exotic flair. Just another fantastic design in the small to mid-size folder category for Spyderco. :)
I prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

I thank every one who has made a comment on the Khukuri here. I got one about a month ago and love this knife. I made an earlier post on this knife right after I got it. This is one of those knives I can't put down. This knife, a UK Pen Knife and my Dragonfly seem to be my EDC knives. Thanks Ed and Sal.

I just got one in the mail yesterday. I like how it feels in the hand, but I'm finding I'm having a tough time releasing the linerlock. There doesn't seem to be enough room for me to stick my thumb in and push against the liner. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

I kinda use my thumb nail. Try that, it works for me :)

Ah yes, the Khukuri, I really want one of these beauties. But my Barong is so fine, I think I'll wait a bit. More Khukuri pics though please, to help tide me over! :D
