I think it's a good decision to put the political forum in the freezer. With the upcomming presidential elections in the USA i fear that this forum will again be overcrowded with discussions pro and contra the candidates. The ongoing battle against extremists is also a subject that can spoil the peacefull athmosphere inhere
I also don't like to discuss theological questions. I am a Buddhist myself and i think everyone is entitled to it's own believe, but starting ripples in this forum is not positive.
If you check the reason wars occuring on earth in the history there is a large portion occuring because of religion.
I would like to keep the positive threads. The so called "Karma" :) contest, and the ask for prayers/smoke/thoughts, etc.
It's better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6
