Nice pickup Zen.....I esp. like that last photo... :p Yeah I've got some short fingers too and I couldn't afford a Sig Sauer so I ended up with the G17.....
I've never had a single jam even though I've fed it mostly the cheap ammo...ya know those CCI Blazers.....but owning this one Glock has made me a Believer in Glock Perfection! ;) I think Glocks and Spydercos make beautiful music together! :D

Impressive collection Yablono. how do you like the long barreled Glock?

To resize photos, goto Microsoft websight and do a search for "resizer", and download it. When you right click a photo then choose resizer. ;)

Yep! Rock's pic truly illustrates that point. I think I "need" a 9mm Glock next...

Which caliber? :D

I'm really happy with the 30, the only downside is for some strange reason, there is far less accessories for the 30 than any other Glock model. Luckily a lot of holsters fit it and the 21,or I guess you would have to carry it "gangsta style".

I really like the long .40 S&W. The trigger pull is a little lighter, the sight radius is longer, and it is easier to load to IPSC major power factor. But I still shoot better scores with my 20 (bottom left), probably because of the extra 10,000 rounds I've put through it. Since you can't read the numbers in the resized photo (you can in the original 1300 kb pic) top row left to right : 17 (9 mm), 26 (9 mm), 24 (.40 S&W). Bottom row L to R: 20 (10 mm), 29 (10 mm), 21 (.45 ACP) and 36 (.45 ACP)

Ah Cool! For some reason I didn't realize the long version was available in 40. Which of course means I could have a barrel made for .357 and get a real flat shooter! The barrel is even slightly longer than the 9mm...hmmmmm.

Yablo, I've never had the pleasure of shooting a 10mm, how does it compare to .45?

It depends a lot on the load. The heavier bullet, high velocity loads (the CCI 200 gr. Blazer comes to mind) has a lot of push to it, but the recoil impulse doesn't seem as sharp to me as a hot .40 S&W. My normal practice/match round is a 172 gr. lead bullet I load to about 1100 fps. Feels a lot like .45 ACP with military ball ammo, but shoots flatter. My 20 also seems to be more accurate than my 21, but YMMV.
The really fun stuff is light bullets at high velocity. I have pushed a 135 gr. JHP to 1705 fps (clocked). That really impressed the .40 S&W shooters! Word of advice: if you like to make a lot of noise/impress/scare people, a stout loaded 155 JHP over Blue Dot powder is just the ticket! I used some in a local IPSC match one time. A friend who had spent a few years in the Army was looking around to see who brought the .50 BMG :D People 30 yards away were scrambling for their ear muffs (I was wearing plugs AND muffs - I knew what was coming :D ) and the visible flash (at 3:00 p.m. in August) was said to be 5-6' across.
Perfect home defense load - even if you miss, the bad guy will be deaf and blind ;)
The 10mm can also be loaded down quite mild, but why?
The Fed Lite 10mm is the reason there is a .40 S&W. If I want that performance level, I get out the 24.

The best part of your paragraph is the part about the 40 S&Ws getting impressed by the 10mm. I guess they don't know the origins of their round... :p

:D Nope. Most of them didn't have a clue. I used to call their round a 10mm short, and they called mine a .40 Magnum. Actually, both names are pretty much true :D

well, my buddy has a 9mm Baby Eagle and he loves it. I havn't gotten to shoot it yet, but I will. I'd love to have a Dessert Eagle, but the price is too high for my likings. I'd rather pay 1/2 and still have a great gun.

The deserts eagles are nice, I got the pleasure to shoot a .41 mag desert eagle through one clip. I really overestimated the recoil and flinched the first few times, but after that I realized that it dosen't kick that much at all.

I would love a glock, but the money right now is going to the University. That and I'm more of a rifle man. So far, all I own is a Ruger 10/22 carbine. I've done a little work on it myself, polishing the bolt, putting a softer trigger spring and stuff like that. I really like .22 cal because most of the shooting I do is just for fun, and .22 is really cheap. My first pistol would probably be something like a Beretta Neo .22. A buddy of mine got one of those, and I think it's great.

I have had my Glock 23 for a few years now with absolutly no misfires/jams, and I get more accurate with it every time I go to the range. I would like to buy a 9mm Sig for target shooting though, to save on ammo cost and try another brand of firearm. But I don't think any gun could replace my 23 for carry because of its super simple opperation, I don't want safties and hammers and SA/DA to deal with in a high stress situation. Glock is the perfect point-and-click firearm.

CCI used to make a medium velocity 200 gr JHP .44 Magnum. I could load up a magazine, slam it in my Desert Eagle and rip through the magazine without ever losing the sight picture. Absolutely NO muzzle flip. Only two problems: 1) The slide would not lock back after the last round 2) No one else who tried it could hold it solid enough to get it to cycle (they accused me of having a Ransom rest up my sleeve :D )
Even with my hand howitzer loads, it really doesn't kick that much. I even set up an all paper (no steel targets) match at our local IPSC club just so I could use that Eagle! After one stage, another shooter said to me: "You can't tell me you ENJOYED that!" to which I replied "I WANNA DO IT AGAIN!" :D

Never used a Kimber, but by all accounts it seems to be a well made Browning designed model. LA Swat uses it...
