Patch, Para's G10
Patch, Para's G10
I didn't plan on patching the left over screw holes in the G10, but needed something to do while waiting for blades to return from the hardners. The patches pretty well cover, that is, you have to look hard to notice them. There were a few issues to deal with - color and texture. I could have added die to the epoxi, but instead, filed off some black G10 to make dust, then mixed it in. Matching the texture was just as easy. I used the peelcoat from a piece of textured G10, clamped it to the textured side of the knife and filled in the epoxi from the back side.

Thank you!
1. This Para was an early version with pivot pin heads not flush with scales. To fix: I turned the "fixed" end of the pivot head down to below scale surface (cut down with lathe). The "screw" side i just replaced the #4 screw with a low profile screw. Painted all screws and there you are.
2. I used Davcon two ton epoxy.
3. Inlay mother of pearl, that could be my next challenge.
