It was ultimately cool to be invited by the good people of Spyderco. And with passes ready to go, thank you Joyce(!), we were swiftly whisked through the entrance, while everyone else was still filling out forms. Again, very cool.
I was a first time visitor and very overwhelmed. The IWA show is huge! I’m sure I didn’t see half the booths, but not that I feel I ‘missed’ anything. Playing with guns, scopes, lasers, binoculars, knives and night-vision equipment for two solid days…I felt like the proverbial kid in the candy store.

Even though it was March, there was still plenty of snow around Nuremberg, Germany.

Underway to the IWA show, the anticipation rises! Fortunately the electronic signs made sure we found our way the first time.
Of course, the first thing we did, was finding the Spyderco booth. Once we found it, we were welcomed like family. It was still early and not too many people were at the show. Of course I wanted to talk to everyone there, but I also recognized that for the spydercrew it’s all business. Once real guests (businesspeople and writers) showed up, we made sure to get out of the way. I still got plenty of one-on-one time with most though. I saw some new protos that were not at the Amsterdam show. I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised!!
