The Bodacious is an real beauty of a design, and it looks like an awesome cutter, which all Spydercos are in their own ways, but still. I'll be darned if I don't find myself wanting one. A G10 Salt version would be icing on the cake.

Dave do you have a comparison shot of the Bodacious and Caribbean from the top to see difference in width of handles ? Curious. Dan

Really loving the more textured appearance & feel of the carbon fiber weave they use for the recent(-ish) S90V Sprints coming out of Golden. Gives them character and sets them apart from most of the carbon fiber-handled models from Taichung.

Beautiful knife. I have held the Bodie and to me the grip feels a bit vague (handle shape wise). I think my hands would far prefer something like the cutouts the Manix or Shaman have, which can be found in the Lynch Circuit Rider scales, but of course YMMV.

Looking forward to more Bodacious releases.

Man, I really like the looks of this thing.

I think a Crucarta Native Chief is my next knife purchase, but if they do a Bodacious that might jump the line.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

This knife makes me miss working in the warehouse. Promotion is/was nice, but man I would LOVE to have a Bodacious down there! Thought I loved the Shaman, but something tells me this is even better.

Similar but a bit slicier. Could still have a thinner blade grind, but it's slicier than a Shaman at least. I would love if it was ground as thin as the Chief, but it's still built pretty stout.

David you are quite an enabler lol.

Ordered one just now. I was surprised how much I liked the Bodacious when I finally broke down and bought a dlc black out model when the mothership had their sale. I enjoy the Shaman but this knife is an easier carry with better cutting performance due to the slimmer blade with long cutting edge.

Hope you all enjoy this model too.

I think I'm going to bevel the edges a bit, but peel ply CF is one of my favorite handle materials so they're definitely not getting swapped out.

I hope you'll post a pic or 2 when you're done. I'm thinking about ordering the same knife, and I'm curious how peel ply looks when beveled.

Here's the real surprise, the Caribbean is a teeny bit lighter despite being bigger in almost every way. I'm guessing it's the weight of the Bodacious back spacer. It makes me wonder if the Caribbean standoffs would work on a Bodacious 🤔

Some random thoughts;

The Caribbean's detent is probably the weakest I've ever felt on a compression lock. It really didn't stand out when I carried it a lot but now after mostly carrying a Bodacious for the last year it's blatantly obvious. What's the deal with Taichung and detents? They're so dang good at everything else.

It's easy to glance at these two and see the similarities, but they really have less in common when you handle them at the same time. They both lack finger grooves and have full length edges and that's really where the major similarities ends. They feel very different in your hand. I still really like the Caribbean but prefer the Bodacious.

The factory titanium clip on the Caribbean is really nice. If I didn't like deep carry clips I'd be trying to order some of these and swap them to everything else they'll fit.

The new style ribbed Salt scales are a massive improvement over the Caribbean. We really need a Bodacious Salt.

It'll depend on how far you bevel it, if you go far enough it'll start showing the carbon fiber weave more and if you polish the bevel it looks really nice. I'll have to try to measure the scale with some calipers or something and see how much meat there is to work with, but I'd like to take it down enough to show some of the weave.

If you zoom in on these scales you can see what I mean, where I reshaped the grip area I also polished the CF. This is the same S90V and peel ply CF combo.

Image

If you don't polish it out then it'll probably look more like some older G10 scales that had more prominent bevels.
