Is it a typo that the reveal says that the Mantra 4 is a font flipper?

I don't believe so. Looking at the pictures I do believe it's a front flipper. Design reminds me of Astute. Very pleasing and easy to the eye. Hopefully the ergo will be the same as the Astute. Design looks promising and I'm sure if it was Golden made magnacut /carbon fibre combo everyone would be all over it.

Pretty bummed that the shelter cove is a budget knife. Been waiting so long for a premium fillet knife from Spyderco.

The Buttonup looks like it was designed by committee. Like they asked ai to design a spyderco and it just mashed Spyderco’s best selling models together.

There isn’t much of interest to me in this one which is rare.
I wish the Cove got the same treatment as the southfork and Sprig

I sure think it is. I see a small flipper tab on the back, and no front flipper at all.

from spyderco's description:
Building on the legacy of our Mantra™ series, the fourth-generation Mantra™ 4 is a sleek, stylish folding knife with an exceptionally refined front-flipper opener. In the closed position, a tiny sliver of the blade’s tang stands proud above the spine of the handle. Despite its minimalist design, a stroke of the index finger against its textured surface propels the blade swiftly and reliably into the open position.
"spine of the handle" is what we're all seeing and that sounds like a standard flipper to me. as opposed to a front flipper. use of the index finger also points to standard flipper since front flippers are typically engaged with the thumb in the front of the knife. either way, it's still a nice looking design.

I should have been clear that when I said “I sure think it is.” I was responding to the question “Is that a typo?” so yes we are all in agreement. Cool design for sure.

I'm very happy to see a 15V Chief! :smiling-cheeks I thought it might happen, but was not sure if there was any 15V left.

I refuse to buy Chinese knives (or anything else if possible)!

I hope the scales on my future M2 Salt look as good as the catalog photos — my Bumblebee PM2 looks like someone thought salt wasn’t enough and sprinkled a bit of black pepper on it :D

Also, dreaming about a Bumblebee Shaman Salt… those contoured scales would look amazing with the yellow lines.

My only Spyderco purchases this year were a manbug hawkbill, and 15v native. I've been a diehard spydie fan for a long time. 10 years or so. For pure cutting and edge retention, there is none better. When I have 100 boxes to break down, or a repetitive cutting task, I reach for one of my Spydies. For EDC, I personally need a knife that can be used for SD. And that's where Spyderco ultimately lost me as a customer. Got tired of trying to make lemonade out of lemons with thin blade stock and weak tips. It just wasn't worth it anymore to have S30V, and a best in class lock, and an anemic blade geometry. I went back to Emerson, blades with a geometry fitting SD, and better designs for that purpose. They're making knives in Magnacut now, but even in 154CM, they cut just fine and are a breeze to sharpen and maintain. Spyderco's cut better longer, but I haven't been missing them. Emersons are also made in the USA down to the screws. Something that is important to me. To see all the made in China stuff be the reveal cover and front of the catalog was a big disappointment. Particularly as the trade war with them is escalating. It diminishes the brand in my eyes. The Golden offerings were good, but I was so turned off by the time I got to that part of the reveal, I didn't care. I haven't bought my last Spyderco but my interest is waning, this reveal didn't help. I hope Spyderco takes this for the constructive criticism it's meant to be. This is how a long time fan feels.

I have been actively collecting spyderco again since just around reveal 14. I have purchased 3-7 from every release up to this one where I am not even sure I will buy one. maybe the 15v native chief. not interested in china releases.

That’s an interesting perspective! Do you like the Yojimbo 2, if I may ask? I think it’s one of the best self-defense knife ever made — not just from Spyderco. And when I saw the Microjimbo Salt in last Reveal, it really felt like a big step forward for the SD line, as I’m pretty sure the Yojimbo and Yojumbo will eventually be released in MagnaCut too. That would mean a stronger tip as well, especially if S30V didn’t quite meet your toughness expectations.

I can't stand the Yo2 geometry and handle. It carries terrible and uncomfortable. It's for an edge centric style though, and I understand the reason and purpose of the design. I prefer a more neutral handle that works in any position forward/reverse edge in/out. And a point centeric design with a robust geometry to support it. My favorite the P'kal is too thin as well. If the P'kal blade were twice as thick, and all the way to the tip it would be near perfect.
