I just received my first Bodacious. What a great design! It has now replaced my beloved BearCarta in my pocket for a slice session. It has blown through a bunch of cardboard so far with ease. I sure would like to see one in 15v, but if we can't get any more, it would be great in Dr. Larrin's new MagnaMax. :usflag :bug-red-white :usflag :party-face

Got myself a Bodacious in SPY27, amazing cutting edge and functionality.
The G10 looks and feels amazing. However, it doesn't prove much grip compared to G10 on other Spyderco knives.
It seems like a hard use folder, but with the current scales I cannot hold on well.
I've ordered some titanium scales to be able to put it to serious use. Looking forward.

And this would definitely do well with MagnaMax/K390/10V :smiling-halo .

My satin Bodacious weighs 4.0 oz with AWT scales, LynchNW Ti clip, and standoffs*.
*I used the two standoffs that come with the AWT Manix 2 XL scales.

Known weights:
4.9 oz - Rockscale ti. scales + OEM steel backspacer + MXG Gear clip (Abbazaba)
4.5 oz - Rockscale ti. scales + Rockscale backspacer + LynchNW clip (Evil D)
4.3 oz - AW Tech Alu. scales + OEM steel backspacer + LynchNW clip (RicLaw)
4.1 oz - RGT micarta scales + OEM steel backspacer + OEM steel clip (RicLaw)
*Spyderco OEM steel backspacer weighs ~ 0.3 oz.

Hmmm...I remember being told on this forum that you can't replace the backspacer with standoffs because the clip screws into the backspacer. But I understand the above to mean you can use standoffs and still attach a clip? Please say more. Got a picture of this setup?

AFAIK clip is held in liners. Just like most G10 Spyderco knives.

Thanks, you are right. I just took mine apart for the first time to resolve my confusion.

Can you replace the steel backspacer on the Bodacious with barrel spacers? Anyone make those?
No because the clip screws into it. If you also added helicoils for the clip screws then yes but that's getting pretty involved.
Found the source of my confusion.

Yeah I was confusing the factory setup with my titanium scales which do thread into the titanium since that side deletes the liner. 🤦🏼‍♂️

The AWT scales are a liner delete type. The screws thread into the aluminum body of the scale. Here you go.

I like the looks of that - the scales and standoffs. Thanks!

I'm a bit late to the party, but I finally got a Spy27 Bodacious.

Fit and finish are pretty good on this one.

Sure would appreciate a pulse check on the SE Bodacious. I just got my monthly "your order is still being processed" from KnifeCenter so I got curious and check my account and saw that this preorder is now over a year old as of 06/16/2024. I normally don't even bother with preorders especially for regular production models but it did get me a Native 5 Salt way faster than most so I figured it couldn't hurt. I'm a patient man but I didn't expect to be waiting over a year.

ED,

I know your alive, your butt is hurting cause you want one of these knives lol. Just like my butt, it's hurting so bad right now for that Manix 2XL Salt in DLC, I keep trolling and trolling lol. So, I know we're alive!!!

I think when we quite hurting is probably when we need to worry, I just ain't figured that move out yet lol

A Salt and 15V Bodacious are really all I'm asking for these days. There's lots of other ideas like a tanto Military 2 but if I just got those two options I'd really be at peace with my knife needs.

The Bodacious SE really interests me too , although I may just go with a Caribbean Sheepfoot SE to satisfy my needs . A Tanto M2 would be a must have . Dan

Yeah I'm surprised a 15v version wasn't released (at all or yet)

I read somewhere, they had a 15V Bodacious prototype at the Bladeshow. It's third hand information so take it with a grain of salt.

I've heard that from a couple people now but I'm trying to not build myself up for a letdown, it's entirely possible they made that display knife before the 15V well dried up. If it doesn't happen then that's a real bummer, hopefully a MagnaCut Salt isn't out of the question.
