I’m still thinking about the Bodyguard 2.0. Might have to try it out. Only bad part is then getting ammo for it and a new holster. It’s an investment
someone recently pointed out to me academy has ammo cheaper than most places. $15-17 for a box of 50 range rds vs $25-30 at mom and pop shops around here.
For CCW I've always gone with modern handguns for the ergonomics, every trigger pull feeling identical, carry capacity and ease of reloading. with a mag carrier I've got 25 rds with my setup.
Semi autos are nice and this Bodyguard seems to fit the bill for me. Lightweight and small. I never feel unsafe in my town so a .380 would be ok. I know the caliber debates rage on.
I am just curious about revolvers and would like some practice with them. But they are pricey

You might want to check the used gun market. Gunbroker is a good place to at least get a feel for the market. Nowadays many regular gun auctions accept online bids. There are some bargains to be found for those who are patient.
Some gun stores with pistol ranges
allow customers to try out firearms.
If there is not one near you
maybe a friend, coworker or relative
has a revolver they will let you try out.
My hunch is that it will not take long
to scratch the revolver itch.
Unless you are a man of a certain age.

The BG2.0 is about perfect and certainly outshoots and out classes the rest of the 380 pocket pistols.
It truly handles like a full size gun, and its so far beyond the original bodyguard 1.0 is not even close.
Mines been with me allot this summer as it's a great shorts and t shirt gun. Falls around the corner though and my p30sk and 45C will go back in the rotation when hoodies and long sherbet come out
I bought a Model 19 revolver years ago after wanting a revolver for a time.
Glad I bought one for the experience. Would not get one again unless is a 9mm version.
I also don't want to add another - more expensive - caliber. I hated cleaning the revolver versus an auto, too.
I'm wearing a standard 1.5" thick leather belt. I'm interested in a ratcheting gun specific belt.
Suggestions?
How's the Kore belt working out, what do you think about it?
definitely a bit less comfortable than a plain leather one, but it holds things in place much more securely and I love the ratcheting system. I've been wearing mine every day.
Don't recall the brand but I saw a slimmer buckle ratcheting gun belt at academy last time I stopped by for ammo. Might pick one of those up too for comparison.
thanks again for the suggestion. been very happy with it.

Yep, I felt exactly the same way when mine was brand new, but now that it’s broken in, it’s just as comfortable as my leather Beltman’s. I’m totally converted, this is the only style belt I’ll wear from now on.
If you want to splurge on fixed sights scalarworks makes the peak set. They also come in folding. I prefer to have irons just in case. I prefer to have fixed irons at that too. Lower 1/3 or absolute isn't terrible with a red dot.
suggestions for sights and lights compatible with a s&w m&p15 sport 3?
Lights: Streamlight or Arisaka, if you want to get fancy. Surefire is great but the premium price doesn't get you a significantly better product.
Backup iron sights: Needed? Eh. Wanted? Sure. Magpul MBUS3.
I have the cheaper magpul polymer sights and when I mounted them on my budget AR they were already on target. Magpul makes good stuff but I just prefer to have my sights already up and solid. The scalarworks are very nice though and you can adjust it with your fingers. Pretty sure the magpuls can be done with a bullet tip. Daniel defense makes good iron sights as well and Troy industries. Again this is for non folding sights.
Not sure what your budget is but aimpoint has the duty RDS sights now. If you're going red dot I'd highly recommend aimpoint. The new model has multiple reticles too. If you want budget red dot the sig romeo 5 series is pretty good for a micro.

I was leaning toward holosun because they're widely available locally and have been recommended to me by a few people. Local prices are $200-350 so I was expecting to drop around $200-300 on the red dot sight I pick.
That sig looks like it has the same features I was looking for (long battery life, green dot option, usa made), just not sure on country of origin. but it'd save me $100 or so I could put towards ammo.

It's definitely not us made but it's one of the best bang for buck red dots. If you want green it's not for you. Also sig has a great warranty on their stuff. No personal experience with holosun but I've used sigs warranty and had a new optic in like 3 days. The optic that broke was not a romeo 5. I have 2 romeo 5s and they're both holding up well. One is on a shotgun for the past 3 or 4 years and that shotgun has at least 1500rds through it.
Usa made is usually gonna be trijicon, leupold, or eotech and if you can find it the micro dot from primary arms. Aimpoint is Sweden. Primary arms makes good stuff too again mostly made in China for the budget red dots.
Edit to add
Looks like sig does make a green version now.
@vivi, I’m definitely not much help with recommending an optic, as I’ve only ever bought / used one before in my life. I bought a Holosun 507C green dot for my Shadow 2. I wanted, and was gonna buy a USA made Leupold DPP but at the time it was only available in a red dot (don’t know if that’s changed)? Green dot works much better for me.
Yeah I was a little (lot) apprehensive about buying a Chinese optic, but I’ve got to say, my Holosun has been awesome, and a real game changer. I know a lot has to do with this all steel CZ, but I shoot 10 to 12 yard groups that are sometimes just one thumb sized hole. If you’re wanting a Holosun, I say buy with confidence. I have a consultation with a eye surgeon at the end of the month for cataract surgery, I can honestly say this pistol and optic have changed everything for me, I love shooting again and try to shoot every Sunday.
