22% of the declared value not including shipping ,that might be it. I paid 9€ for one, so it is only "going through customs fees" and I'm sure they'll ask me more in some time. I try to avoid them because they are very vehement and always ask for too much when you don't pay what you should be asked to pay upon receival... We'll see !Steelearner wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 8:51 amThey ask me 33.8€ for 2 mules.Ramonade wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 12:28 amI only now realized that Fedex is the carrier. I read on the "site des douanes" that under 150€ you pay only TVA. But I'm not sure because knife was with "vaisselle". So with the change $/€ it's under. I always pay online directly. Maybe they forgot to notice you and you pay "une amende".Ramonade wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 9:46 am22% of the declared value not including shipping ,that might be it. That's at least going to look awesome when done. I wish I had some cool looking material to put on mine. I also just got the 15V Mule to compare directly, now hunting a K294 Mule as well.WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 8:59 amHere is my project, I do t have a lot of time so it will take some time.

I wasn't being condescending, we're on an english forum and i don't know the word for dédouanement. That's it....Steelearner wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 10:50 am

I always pay online too, and fedex always ask me a very low number, just to come back months later, this time asking for custom fees they paid for me in advance, without stating anything before and upon delivery.

Just got my first mule team blade here today in Florida. Very excited to see how it will perform.
Re: MT46P/MT46S - Mule Team™ MagnaMax™ Release Info!
Dunno why my image link didn't work so I'll just throw on the imgur link:
Also since we're all talking fedex, my experience receiving a package from them for the first time was.....whew, a mess.
They signed it as delivered a full 7hrs before it arrived. Stated it was delivered to my address but on the "proof of delivery" pdf it just had a "signature" in text of an S.[surname]. Had me baffled, went down my whole street asking if anyone had gotten the package or if anyone knew who this was. Then, of course, minutes after I emailed Spyderco, the delivery person showed up.
On the flipside, I've yet to receive an email or message of any sort asking for additional fees. Though I expect I will eventually. The knife itself might skirt just under the UK's additional import fees but I'm pretty sure the delivery and sheath will tip it over. As far as I know Spyderco doesn't prepay the VAT either.
But hey, great knife. Used it a bunch already, though I've yet to put any scales on it.
Going to commission some English yew scales I think, same stuff we used to make longbows out of here. The mule with some good quality, high polished yew I think will be stunning, and from what I've seen so far, it seems like even though it's lower toughness than MagnaCut, it can take more abuse than most knives of that size (that aren't being used as prybars or axes) will ever need to take. Looking forward to chucking it on my KME and getting a mirror finish too, interested to see how long that'll last.
Edit: disregard that last bit, just popped over to the testing thread, first post is someone using the serrated model as an axe, came out fine, I salute you @Evil D for being a braver (or more insane?) man than me. Now I feel even better about using this for whatever comes up
Prybar test when?

That's some nice looking material. I think if it wasn't for the availability of awesome scale material, I wouldn't be as enthused about putting together a Mule.
This just showed up at the door. It must be something nice to warrant all that fancy box tape.
Re: MT46P/MT46S - Mule Team™ MagnaMax™ Release Info!
The tape is new and it's extra lol. I like the red and black shredded paper they stuff the box with. I have a little sister that graduated from Texas Tech and she has been wanting me to send her one of my Mules, so one of these same sort of boxes with the color appropriate red and black stuffer for filler, she will be all over it as much as the Mule lol...
Re: MT46P/MT46S - Mule Team™ MagnaMax™ Release Info!
The red and black paper is pretty neat, I agree.

Infinite Zero wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 9:23 amI'm curious the percentage of buyers who got the sheath and scale kit along with their mule. With those both sold out alongside the mules, I am betting it was pretty high.
I have two sets of scales and 3 sheaths (two regular and one for the HIC Mule that required a special sheath). I just swap scales to whatever Mule I'm playing with at the time. It's nice to get it all at once and get free shipping but it also increases your risk of a slow checkout and missing out.

Nah, don't think I'd pry with this one just based on the assumed similarities to K390, but someone has to find a breaking point or at least get close to it. I'll finish cleaning up the chips on mine and get back to cutting stuff probably this weekend.
