Folder are restricted! No OTF's.

Automatic folder is available however, it may be restricted in your local area due to local laws… Spyderco makes the Autonomy 3 but as of yet they do not offer an OTF.
Whatever turns you on, cupcake.

Depending on where you live if they are restricted. Yes Spyderco does make a few auto's. There is a section on this forum all about these, if you want to check that out.

Dear Maxvicious:
Automatic knives are legal in Colorado. To carry one, it must comply with legal blade-length requirements, which specify a maximum of 3.5 inches.
Please note that Spyderco restricts its direct sales of automatic knives and other knives we regard as restricted items to law enforcement and military personnel.
Stay safe,
Mike

I would definitely be interested. I think what Spyderco could bring to the OTF world that is sorely needed is better blade grind geometry and better slicing overall. Most OTF's are very short in blade height and so they can only have so low of a blade grind angle, so they tend to be door stops. Someone needs to make an OTF with a taller blade profile to allow for a lower blade grind angle, and in turn that would also mean a taller handle and could also be more ergonomic than the majority of the blocky square designs out there.

Just to make sure the OP's question gets answered, Spyderco makes the Autonomy 2 automatic folder, which is a top-notch knife. It comes in plain edge or fully serrated versions, in H1/H2 steel, which doesn't rust. Its blade is exactly 3.5 inches long which, as Mike said, is the maximum Colorado allows.
I agree with David that Spyderco should make an OTF, for the reasons he states. Unfortunately, they don't as of yet.

Yes, Spyderco makes a knife called the Autonomy, and it comes in a variety of configurations. There are dozens of great knife stores online. Buy one there, and have it shipped to your door.Maxvicious wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 9:59 amDoes Spyderco offer or will they offer a automatic folding model , and a OTF someday ??
