I've seen reports of lock stick on mili 2s. Is this a widespread issue? Late lockup?

Well, I picked one up because I have no impulse control when it comes to Spydercos these days.

I only have the Mili 2 in 15V, (until the CS exclusive I just bought gets here) but I can report that I don't have any issue with lock stick or late lockup.

Thanks! Do you have other comp locks to compare to? I'm curious if lockup looks similar, earlier or later.

my two (s30v dlc, 15v) are fine in both these aspects.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

The three M2s I had in my hands only one (S110V) had minor lock stick that resolved itself pretty quickly and none had later than expected lockup

^ Congratulations, that looks sweet. Mine will arrive around two weeks from now as it still needs to cross the Pacific Ocean.

This or the 15v for a first millie?
Tough choice for sure. I've got an S30V DLC Military 2 already that I carry alot. But I've been really wanting to try Spyderco's take on XHP. I have a SOG Kiku XR in XHP that I absolutely love, and I'm willing to bet that Spyderco's heat treat will be much better than SOG's

And the XHP Mili is sure to be more rare than the 15Vs
If CS releases the Mil2 like other exclusives, there will possibly also be a satin blade version . MG2
And a wharncliffe. :cheap-sunglasses

Right?
If they did a Millie wharncliffe....****, will once again do what it takes to get across the border lol

Today I emailed Cutlery Shoppe to see if a satin blade version was coming. I got a reply from Jeff saying that there will not be a satin version of this Military 2 exclusive

That is a bummer. Satin always seemed to be the more popular version.

My S30V, purchased right after they were released, is textbook perfect comp lock. Zero stick, axis lock style flip open / flip closed fidget factor.

I know I was a serious hold out on any coated blades, but let me say now that I have used several of mine that have this new DLC blades, these are nothing short of awesome guys.

I am not easy of my edc either as I see them as a tool and heck if I jack mine up or something, and can't repair or fix whatever, Jeb just flat out replaces it.

You guys need to lean on the DLC blades and see what I have seen, your going to be impressed.

Crazy how the times have changed. To get a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive a few years ago you would have to be signed in right at the drop and hope to snag it and have a fast connection or you would miss out. These days, it's still available!! I like it though, makes flipping knives basically impossible to pull off as everyone has more than enough time to get whatever the exclusive is. I've been noticing this with a lot of drops over the past year or so now.

M,

I said new and I know it's not new but it's new to me, forever I never bought the coated blades, the coating never lasted very long on the knives and blades I did have it on.

Just recently bought my first Spyderco that was DLC and I have put it through its paces and I have been quite impressed.

So yeah I shouldn't have said new really. It's new to me...lol

I would have guessed the opposite, with these being bright like the pink FRN handles, it makes a black blade look striking in contrast. It honestly felt like the satin ones were just there as a backup for the people who don’t like coated blades.

My bad, Jeb! I misunderstood what you meant. DLC is some impressive stuff though. I'm excited to compare it to the new coating Spyderco will be using. :respect :bug-white-red
