3.5" Chaparral concept model.

I’m approaching Gernot’s levels of excitement at this! 🥳 The only time I’m without my Chap LW SE these days is when I’m in the shower or asleep, it is THAT GOOD a knife design (and to be honest I often fall asleep with it in my pj shorts - it is so slim). The potential for their being a larger one got me so excited I went and told my wife… who stoically humoured me like the wonderful woman she is 😂
I honestly can say I never have checked out the Chaparral and only because of the shorter blade length. What I am reading from you here is its a really great knife lol... but Spyderco makes a host of really great knives; honestly I don't need one of each model.
The bug bite around this forum is really bad lol...

I put off trying it for years thinking it too short for my tastes (I generally prefer lots of edge and no choil), but I took a punt on the LW SE and it has been a revelation like no other knife I own. Earlier today I thought to myself “I’m going to dig out my Quiet Carry Drift and carry it for a bit”. I kept the LW SE IWB as I wanted to put it in a different place to where I store most of my knives… ended up putting the Drift back after an hour and just hanging on to the LW SE 😂

PS - I’m not so enamoured with the PE model, it’s specifically the SE one. It punches WAY above its weight (or size) class might suggest.

PPS - I’ve started selling or giving away almost all my other EDC knives. It’s that good.

@JoviAl What do you think of the QC Drift? I have a very difficult time opening the Drift LC.

Why does the Chap SE get so much more love than the PE? I tend to carry the FRN PE more than any other variant. The lockbar takes less pressure to unlock than the CF model and the PE blade is more versatile.

I want to love the Drift, but it’s a strange one - rustproof Vanax slicey blade and totally inert titanium scales screams water use, but the lock’s lack of self close bias and relatively light detent is a hard pass for me while doing water sports 🤷🏼‍♂️ I have no issues opening it but the blade does seem to want to give me a little kiss if I’m not paying attention as it travels through its arc.

As for the LW SE, I don’t know why it is so stellar in SE but IMHO it is. It is far beyond the sum of its parts in use.

V,

That knife looks like the perfect cross draw from the horizontal position attached to your belt. Then you can throw one of your Police4 or Manix 2XL in that pocket...

It's to clean and simple like you have it in the pic lol. You need to complicate things...

Been carrying this 15V Para 3 for the last couple days. Honestly, most of the time now I carry a small Sebenza, but the 15V calls to me from time to time (and really has great edge performance for my uses).

there's definitely better ways to EDC the street beat outside of work. Carrying it like that makes it easy to reach while I've got a chef coat / apron on.

You lay that killer knife horizontal right in front on the belt just to your leftside of center(if your right-handed), that thing would carry great and draw even better.

Heck just looking at this makes me want one of these too lol. Just looking at the pix you, Dan and others have tact up here on the forum of the new M2 Salt, I broke down my defenses and got one from Nationalknives.com, last night lol... Awesome looking from the pix...

This place and a few of you guys in particular are almost as bad as the bug bite around here lol. All kidding aside you sir have a great weekend...

It's been one of my favorite small fixed blades since I got the original with a satin blade and micarta scales.

If you shop around they can still be found around $90-100. Most stores sell them for around $120 which is still a very fair price for how nice the design is.

I have an armatus sheath setup for horizontal carry I can switch to outside of work.

One of my favorites! Crazy lightweight, especially for the size. Nice thin SE slicer, too.

The Bodacious is in my pocket today. My work day Spyderco has mostly been the K390 Leaf Jumper-- which is becoming a very strong new favorite.

I need to spend more time with the Bodacious and get to know it more.

Happy Saturday, All!
