Dear Sal, that´s amazing!

I´ve been thinking about starting a thread asking you how things are going concerning the Chap XL since you said that you were thinking about a prototype (viewtopic.php?p=1814230#p1814230)... but I was reluctant to "annoy" you and the forum yet once again with my constant dreams about that knife.
Thanks so much for really looking into this! :clinking-mugs

He is indeed !!

And I could see you also being one of those who might enjoy a 3.5" Chap... Still small for your likings, I know, but it should offer a lot you appreciate: First and foremost supersolid backlock with stop pin and thin, ffg blade...

Super excited is an understatement in my case...;)

And for me personally this is what a Chap XL has always been about and has not left my mind since 2019 :grin-sweat (viewtopic.php?p=1377379#p1377379 ; viewtopic.php?p=1295580#p1295580)
Keeping literally everything the same: Handle thinness, handle height, lock, blade height and especially the 2 mm stock... except the only thing that should change: Elongate the whole package to about Endela length...

We´ll see what Sal with his of course multiple times higher wisdom and knowledge will do... but I see this as a "concept", also in order to specifically find out if that thin, but strong Chap package can also work and be durable enough in "long"..

Thanks!

I am just grateful and glad that Sal does what he does!
And I think sharing our passion for Spyderco is one of the main points of this forum, right? :smlling-eyes

I think this is an excellent idea Gernot . A thread to share thoughts would be beneficial to members and good feedback to Sal and Spyderco all in one thread . Dan

I’m approaching Gernot’s levels of excitement at this! 🥳 The only time I’m without my Chap LW SE these days is when I’m in the shower or asleep, it is THAT GOOD a knife design (and to be honest I often fall asleep with it in my pj shorts - it is so slim). The potential for their being a larger one got me so excited I went and told my wife… who stoically humoured me like the wonderful woman she is 😂
