Carried my Ayoob sprint to church this morning, it’s turned into my every Sunday church carry, it’s a very cool knife, I think we all benefited from JD’s relentless efforts to make this knife happen. I for one really appreciated his time and efforts to convince Sal and company to bring the Ayoob back one more time!

It’s been long enough, I’d love to see it happen again, this time with a true Hollow grind model. And I’d be completely happy with the same exact materials as that Ayoob, Gray G-10 and Cru-wear.

Several candidates that come to mind….

*Chinook 1, or 2.
*Rookie.
*Tim Wegner. Although I’ve read here that’ll never ever happen again, still a great knife!

These three were from a time when Hollow grinds were the norm, and they were all original Hollow grinds.

Curious your thoughts, and any other models that come to mind?

There’s been quite a bit of discussion lately on knife prices, but I wouldn’t hesitate to spend some extra on a nice re-do of another older iconic discontinued Spyderco model, just thinking out loud here.
I think you sell yourself short , Joe didn’t get the Ayoob project accomplished without members like you standing by the decision to produce the knife . The same has to happen here , great list of older models have been considered by members but there is a need to poll and then vote possibly to make it happen again . It took a long time for the Ayoob to become a reality and if we all can stand together on one model we can hopefully make it happen with the blessings of Spyderco . I know no matter what the knife would be I will support it regardless if I like the model , that is what I do . MG2
Thank you Dan, and you're right, it took the entire forum pulling together. My only real contribution was actually convincing Mr. Ayoob over at Glocktalk to come here and take a look at the enormity of that thread, and maybe give a little wink-wink to Sal! I did think that whole exchange was pretty cool.

I would love to see a Kris sprint run, simplicate and add lightness like more recent Persians from the beautiful but somewhat heavy original bolstered. With bolsters please, it's such a beautiful design as Schempp's designs tend to be (I have most of the others though).

Also, Spyderhawk sprint - I think it will cost more than last time some years back, might be a good excuse to go ahead and put a premium steel on it. I love that knife, but I only have 1 (H1 orange, gave the others to friends) and the tip is a little crooked so something with a harder steel would be nice.

Kris.
I too would like to see a resurrection of the KRIS model. But also from that time slot The IMPALA and the C-111 Captain models would be cool for a modernized Sprint Run.

As my good Brothers pointed out the past Sprint Runs of the C-60 Ayoob and TEMPERANCE 1 models both with Cruwear blades sure got some well deserved attention.

I would dearly love to see a Sprint run C-111 Captain model in full SE except for the rounded end. And the more I think about it a KRIS model in full SE would be special as well.

That's a very interesting one Dan! I looked up the Ulize, it's got a very interesting origin story and it's based on the Police.

Serrated Kris = mind blown…

I also always had an eye for the Captain. Just never pulled the trigger when the price was reasonable and they were readily available.

Kinda the same thing with the Warrior and Pygmy. Knivesplus has one of each in the Boss’s Collection now, but man they’re steep.

Evil D and I both along with a handful of others have been petitioning for a full SE ULIZE for quite some time now. I just know in my gut that one of Spyderco's premium recurve in full SE could be a really aggressive blade for hard use situations.

Also the original prototype of the C-111 Captain I was told was a full SE rendition. If that knife was really designed for marine type uses I just know for sure that it would be a dream blade for those types of uses.

Hi Joe , definitely agree Ulize is a top three on my list as long as both blades are offered like the Ayoob . Just hope we can poll and vote models in future and stand behind the choice . MG2 ( Dan )

There is one other premium Spyderco Recurve model that I think would be awesome in full SE. The SPYKER was also a really beefy Recurve model and I dearly loved the handle on that bad boy.

And don't forget the ADVENTURA>> that could be a possibility as well for an SE modification.

Since the Spyer was a collaboration with another company , it may be a dicey to happen ? I have the Adventura and always thought it would be nice to see beefier handles . It is my favorite special occasion folder .Dan

I'd love to see the Kopa and Kiwi come back, with the Kiwi in the original size but with the lines of the Kiwi 4. Any configuration with a stainless blade steel would be good, though my preference would be linerless G-10 backlocks with Magnacut. LW SlipIt versions of both models would also be very interesting.

Bob Terzuola hinted at a Spyderco collab recently on IG, I was hoping for the Starmate so maybe it's in the works already 😇
Has there been any further mention of a fresh Terzuola Spydie?

Not that I know of. Below the post where a new colab in 2025 is mentioned.

Very cool thread.

I really like that idea of a Bob Terzuola Starmate, maybe in K390!
Maybe a Double Bevel for fun!

Dialex Junior is a cool recommendation here.

Khukuri is one I'd like to see redone, maybe in Super Blue! K390 also...

If Cruwear maybe becomes hard to get, any of the above in MicroMelt PD1!

This is without mention, that I'm hoping hoping hoping, the issues stalling out an upcoming Caly series gets worked out and moved forward first!
Going back to Caly.

K390 jess horn lightweight with that super crisp hollow grind. That would be a high performance knife.

I always advocate for the Kris though but seeing Sal's comments looks like that won't be happening.
