If the new calypso has screw construction I'm definitely getting one. Love the design. Lots of similarities with the Police.

guess I should update my sig. been on a carbon steel kick lately.

This, from the Pac Salt king?! I'm shocked.
Might surprise some here to know my collection is pretty balanced between carbon and stainless. I've got a wide selection of carbon knives ranging from pocket folders to two handed machetes and axes.

Like you I'm quite fond of micarta and tool steel - it just typically isn't very practical for me in a pocket knife. But my current work environment is very well ventilated, and for off days the nights have started to cool off a bit. So the K390 Police, M4 Chief and carbon Case trapper have been enjoying pocket time for the first time in a while.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Out of all the M4 I've owned (excluding dlc of course), this one has taken the longest to patina. Takes a great edge though, which is one of my favorite things about the steel. Very good sharpening response & edge holding balance.

Image

Also carrying my case 4" trapper.

Image

Edge holding isn't quite up to the M4 Chief but zero complaints about how ~1980's era case carbon steel sharpens up!
May you find peace in this life and the next.

Hoping I can catch Vivi's eye with today's carry...which includes another yellow Case model!
