....although I am stoked to see it under $200.....
Don't get me wrong, I am honestly happy for all who prefer the "2" over the "1" / original Millie, but I still wonder why the former is clearly less expensive?
One can only speculate:
- Is it less cost intensive to make a comp lock than the great, precise linerlock of the Millie?
I actually can't imagine that.
- Do they expect the Millie 2 to sell in much higher numbers and that because of that they can already lower the price?
Could be.
- Do they want to help the Millie 2 to have a good and succesfull start and motivate buyers by making it cheaper than the "1"? So marketing reasons?
- Do they perhaps think about letting the Millie 1 fade out in the long or medium run and only produce the "2" anymore and this is a first step towards this (lower price = better sales numbers for the "2"?) ?
Would be really sad for me personally, but perhaps make sense for Spyderco economically. And usually a "1" and a "2" of a certain model are not both in production alongside, right?
- Or does the "2" have a more "pm2-ish" price since for some (including me) it really is more of a "PM2 XL" / "Para 4"? (NO Intention to actually discuss this point anymore, I think that horse is beaten to death already

- meant just as a thought that they want to place the Millie 2 more in the PM2 line marketing wise, cause it objectively has more PM features than the "1").
