Re: Have you found "the one?"
I voted "no" however I'm really close to agreeing with you Vivi on the H1 Pac Salt!
(It's in competition with the Stretch XL at the moment.)

Re: Have you found "the one?"
I had "the one" , same knife every day for 20 years, then I joined a knife forum :P
Now I'm certain there is no "one", only the journey.

Yeah, the Military. It could easily be my only folder.

Either Cruwear or S110V. Those are the two I have carried the most.

I had no choice but to submit other . Manix knives are the major part of collection I carry , so flavor of the day in that model works for me but absolutely appreciate other models . MG2
MNOSD 0002 / Do more than is required of you . Patton

Re: Have you found "the one?"
Gun to my head, if I had to choose a single model that I would carry to the exclusion of every other folder, it would be the Yojimbo 2. It has a lot of features that make it an ideal work folder for me, and since about 95% of my folding knife use is work-related, I suppose that makes it "the one". Other reasons why I really, really like the Yo2 are the fact that there is a full-featured trainer version, as well as an almost 1:1 fixed-blade version in the Ronin 2 (which I regularly use as a small outdoors utility knife when hiking/camping). Having access to both has helped build contextual muscle memory and enhance reflexive tool use in novel situations with regards to the Yojimbo 2. Among all the folders I own, the Yojimbo 2 is the one that—by virtue of its design & my extensive experience using said design—most feels like an extension of my hand.
That said, I'm glad & thankful that I'm not limited to just one folder and that I have a variety of options and alternatives. There are other designs that I enjoy using just as much as the Yo2 but haven't seen as much actual work use for any number of reasons, chief among them the Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight, Caribbean, Endura 4, Delica 4, Native 5, and Para Military 2. So I guess what I really have is "the seven", LOL.

I haven’t and probably won’t. My mind changes every time I change out my knife. I have come to realize that if there ever is a “one” it will more than likely be a backlock.

Kopa tiger coral
Caly3 (superblue)
Calypso (g10)
Are definitely my “the ones”. if I had to choose one to own I’d probably say the calypso just because it’s the most versatile in cutting chores out of them. But those favorites are hard to pick between.

Re: Have you found "the one?"
I have vivi, all 6 or 8 of them!
Re: Have you found "the one?"
There is no "one," there is only "one more."
Mainly because I enjoy trying new designs and acquiring knives for different use situations. I could probably narrow it down to five though: a Native lightweight, an Endela, a serrated Tasman Salt, a Yojimbo 2, and a Manix 2 lightweight.

Re: Have you found "the one?"

The Straight Spine Stretch could be my only knife and I’d be a happy camper. It does everything I need, nothing I don’t. This particular example is the bee’s knees. I’m still not happy with the backspacer, and might return it to FRN because of that - unless I can get one made in stainless or ti.
I could also, probably, be happy with either a Military or PM2. The Stretch 2XL is also looking like a winner. Love ‘em all.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Re: Have you found "the one?"
I have the small knife settled and the 3 inch knife settled. Above 3 inches of blade it is close between the back lock Manix 2 and the Straight Spine Stretch. I love both for different reasons and for some of the same reasons. I go back and forth between them.
And now Sal comes out with the Leaf Jumper. I gotta try it. I hate the name, but the knife looks pretty good.

Re: Have you found "the one?"
This is unanswerable, because there are “one”s for many situations.
Even if I include my favorite of my own designs, I’d never be able to narrow things down to one…
That said the serrated Rockjumper I just got in the mail yesterday is my favorite Spyderco knife.
Okay, I’m a little contradictory sometimes.
I have several new models to try out now, so we’ll see how things pan out, but I was pleasantly surprised by all of them.
The Rockjumper just fits me really well. It’s perfect for when I’m climbing trees, but also at home in the more generalized type of carry.
My perfect one would be a GITD Salt version, or a Salt with a colorful handle (or both?). I might call it THE ONE if that happens.

Re: Have you found "the one?"
Military. THE one. I'm extremely grateful for being able to get a bunch of them before Spyderco decided they need 'improving'.
Pacific Salt, especially modded to a pointier tip. THE one for summertime IWB carry.
Kapara, Watu, Ikuchi (they each were some kind of 'one' that I really really needed to have).
JaniSong, T-Mag, Bi-fold, Snap-It for all the innovation they entailed
