I would be ecstatic to see it come out in MagnaCut, especially with a SE variant because my next obsession is going to be wanting to try SE MagnaCut, and this would be an awesome model to try it out on. My gut feeling is that it's going to be Spy27 though.
magnacut would be great, but i almost wish it would be a lesser steel that won't attract people that only want to flip them. a sprint in magnacut is sure to sell out quickly and be 3x as expensive on ebay three minutes later. it may happen anyway, but even vg10 would make that less likely and would be good enough for me in a knife like this.

You know, I would also be happy if it just came in VG-10. It won’t, though.

As much as I really want one of these, TBH, if I miss out due to all of them being bought up, whether by actual fans or by flippers, I’m not going to be upset about it. And no way in **** would I ever buy one at an inflated price from a flipper. For me, if that happened, it would simply be a case of “the one that got away.”

Based on what you just said I truly wish Spyderco would at least consider making the C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run available to forum members first before it hits the open market. There is probably about 40 of us here who would pull the trigger immediately. Sure they could have a limit of 4 or even 6 units per order. There are so many here on the Forum who have wanted one of the C-60 Ayoob models for such a long time.

I've talked to two guys who have been trying to get one for years. It's probably one of thee hardest GOLDEN ERA models to obtain at this point. And this is one model that the serrated version is actually harder to get than the plain edge model. But in any case I do urge all of you who want one to be ready to act immediately when they become available.

I'm getting really impatient. No not about the upcoming C-60 Sprint Run taking more time before being available. They can take all the time they need to make sure this new C-60 Sprint Run is a complete winner at the box office. No what I'm impatient about is that EVIL D ( David) has not given us any further updates on the performance of his recent acquisition of an older full SE Ayoob model that he was fortunate enough to snag recently.

I want to hear more reviews and comments from him but he's failing in his duties to inform the Spyderville residents as to how awesome of a cutter his newly acquired, full SE C-60 Ayoob ( 2002 era) has been. And I'm sure I am not the only person interested to hear what he's got to report about his full SE C-60 Ayoob model. As much as he examines and scrutinizes all of his full SE blades I think it's high time we get to hear more about this full SE Ayoob model and for him to tell us what he has tested it on.

Duty is calling my friend!!! I know you have been doing more cutting with it.

Sal, I'm a big ole nobody here but I think JD has a very legitimate request! Give the members here first shot, limit the quantity to two, or one of each blade style, I plan on buying both a serrated and plain edge with the serrated being first on my list. Everyone here has been vested in this 62 page thread for a long time now, it'd be nice if everyone here who wanted one got at least one first.

Definitely not telling you how to run your business, and I'm not even sure how you'd do it? Just a thought.....

When Spyderco sells knives, they sell them at full MAP. Would you be willing to purchase the "early edition" Ayoob at full MAP? I ask, because Spyderco needs to maintain their relationship with retail outlets. I think that outlets wouldn't be upset if their Ayoob offering was "late" but less expensive. Consumers are price sensitive, so many may be willing to wait before purchasing. Retailers may not be so happy if Spyderco excludes others from the market AND sells at a competitive price. Spyderco has to balance catering to their loyal customers/forumites and their loyal retailers/distributors.

I should note that I don't really know what I'm talking about. I don't have any experience maintaining relationships with distributors, etc. That said, I find this idea to be interesting, and I like thinking about it from a variety of angles.

Oh I get everything you just said, that’s why I said I’m not even sure how it could be done, if it even can be done? Still, it’d be nice!

With all the chatter, I guess I'm going to have to get one. I have to see what the blade angle is all about and test it out on a pork-man.

Congratulations to all! This is great news for Spyderco as it proves they are moving right along and able to satisfy demand.

The news Sal just laid on us is a cause for celebration!! I'm so glad that so many of you all that never got to experience and enjoy one of the previous C-60 Ayoob models will now get to check this great folder design first hand.

I'm really happy for Spyderco because I know deep in my gut this Sprint Run is going to be a super success. Let the Show Begin!!!

Hi Confusius,

New models are generally released in the Reveals that come out quarterly. "When" is not something that we can tell for sure until a model is in and passes QC.
