No. They are Screw construction. :)
Lame.

Oh well I suppose the grey on the K390 Urban sprint isn't to bad.

Another question while I have you here.

The UKPK is Delica sized? Lost my HAP Delica at work and would like something about the same size but with9the back lock.
I think you misread my reply. I said no to your question of whether they had pinned scales.

You can totally replace the scales if you want. It's screws, not pinned so you can easily take it apart.

I think the ukpk and delica are close in size. The delica is a little bigger though if I I recall correctly. I don't actually own or carry the delica.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

Ok, like I said, I don't own or carry a delica...but my wife does. :)

I hope this helps. Hopefully this encourages you or some other delica fans to take a closer look at the ukpk, one of Spyderco's finest models in my opinion.

Steve can not mod the newer UKPK or Urban models due to the way the springs are installed. He can however mod one of the older G10 UKPKs (if you can find one!) such as this Koa wood one he did for me with red G10 liners. :) Cheers, Radioactive :)

I do not own an Urban or UKPK but was thinking of picking up both this year to have the scales swapped although it sounds that it is not quite that simple. There is another thread where another member talks a bit about the FRN to wood scale mod. I will probably still pick these both up and give it a shot myself. Does anyone have a photo of either FRN model opened up?

I saw the koa scales on his instagram and bladeforum accounts - was waiting for the s110v version to have him make me a set. Absolutetly beautiful knife you have there!!!
Sorry to hear that this may not be possible. Is the spring pivot reinforced on the g10 model? Or because there is no nubbin (sorry for the "technical" term) to mount the back of the spring? I had contacted him about making me koa scales, and he (wisely) suggested we have the knife in hand first.

My last alternative may be to track down an old g10 version, and hope that a blade swap works.

I went ahead and ordered one of these largely because of this thread. What reallly sold it to me was the comparison shot with the Delica, which is one of my favs.

I finally ordered a black ffg UKPK and then decided to pick up a gray one as well for good measure. (Knifeworks has a stash of the disco'd serrated and combo-edged drop points.)

No surprises really, just nice to finally have a UK with a proper blade :D:

Image

Now that I have this wealth of UKPKs, I was thinking about doing a multi-way blade swap. I searched around and it looks like it should work as long as I keep the proper spring with the ffg blade. If anyone has experience and can confirm, it would be much appreciated.

Right now I'm considering the ffg blade with maroon scales and the serrated drop point in black. Then I might gift one or both of the others... or I might just keep them all and buy the dark blue one as well lol. :o

Man!....you had to mention that! Now I'm having a hard time not pulling the trigger on the maroon SE.

Haha, I was really surprised they still have so many variants. I know they're all the least popular models, but still... They're going to be hip and retro some day.

Blade swap works when you keep the forked spring with the FFG blade. Also, New Graham has many older variants available.

Thanks for the confirm and great tip on New Graham! I always forget about them for some reason. I think I'm all set until the s110v drops, but even better prices and they still have some leaf blades, good stuff.

yep, the temptation level of this thread proved to be too much for my weak will... a Ti Squeak is now on order.

The proportions have always looked odd to me compared to the UK and Urban, but the Titanium and Elmax combo (as well as them being discontinued for a while now) pushed me over the edge.

The M390 Urban has been in my pocket since the day it arrived, maybe the Squeak will be able to push it out?

...still waiting for the CF and 52100 UKPK though ;)

I'm really hoping they do a drop point on this one. I vastly prefer the drop point over the leaf blade. Even stuck one in my Ti UKPK just for fun.

I like the drop point as well. We'll watch for demand and capacity.

I prefer the drop point as well, I'd be tempted by one in 52100, or Maxamet?

Either would be fine but I'm really enjoying this K390. I'd vote for that.
