Woah! Do NOT use a diamond sharpener to re-sharpen your blade! Diamond stones are for reshaping blades or sharpening low quality steels. The ceramic rods seem like a better choice but the grits need to be starting at 1000. The diamond stone is too coarse to sharpen a blade to be a fine edge. In fact...

I think that we all know that Spyderco has many times been ahead of its time. Perhaps before when entering the market they were doing just that. However, I think that it should also be very important to have proper high quality handles like the Yin and Yang do for all the knives. Previously, the han...

Spyderco Kitchen?
I was wondering whether there would be a chance that Spyderco would further their tools into the culinary world? The Yin and Yang are excellent knives, even though not full tang, but lack in some areas that perhaps a santoku or larger chef's knife would be better...

For your needs I would recommend HP because it lasts quality wise and you can also get a 12-cell lithium ion battery which can actually last over 7 hours. It has the best battery performance and length on the market. Dell is also a nice choice because they are cheap, but they are also bad because th...

Wow! I'm pretty surprised that the grits are actually that fine! Usually, a medium stone (for Japanese water stones at least) are around 200 grit! Granted this is to reshape the blade and stuff, but really, it seems that the higher grits were all I needed anyways! I'm pretty fascinated actually... n...

SAILOR by far is the best production and custom pen manufacturing line. It is a Japanese fountain pen brand, the writing nib (which is crafted by jewelers) has received the greatest and highest praise since its conception and is regarded as one of the finest writing instruments in the world. Mont Bl...

As most members of this forum will recall, Spyderco had to forfeit a bunch of butterfly knives to ICE in 2007; they were estimated to be worth around $400,000. I don't know what ICE did with all those knives. Maybe they melted them down, gave them as gifts, or simply threw them away. To give tomaha...

Just got my Sharpmaker in the other day...
WOW, I was VERY impressed with my investment. I wish I had gotten it earlier, it can be used for just about everything! Not only was it easy to use but also helped with my angling of the blade for flat bench stones! It was so easy and efficient that I re-sharpened all my knives around the house! Aft...

I see some nice knives have been suggested! Obviously, the Military would be the one to pick as it was designed with that question to which single knife would be excellent to choose from. I would first recommend that, then the Police actually. But I would also add a half serration to the blade on ei...

Microtech vs. Spyderco
I was looking through my old collection and found a bunch of Benchmades and Microtechs (back when they were cheaper, haha) and was wondering why people compare Microtech (or even Cold Steel God forbid...) to Spyderco?? Even at the malls over in PA and MD where I go there are Spydies for a fraction o...
