I only have one beadblasted knife - a bm 975s. What I find is that a long day of perspiring leaves a little bit of tarnish on the knife. So does handling it alot. but, a wipe down with the wd40 when I sharpen it knocks it all off. In short, Yes it happens to me, but I wouldnt count it as a "problem".

I have to agree with using a heavier lube. However, this might be worth a try: Using a smashed qtip, clean the entire knife, especially the pivot (to get any wd40 or other lube you missed). Then take some powdered graphite (I think it is available in better hardware stores) And apply in MODERATION ...
