About time for a contest

#1

Post by Irish Lager »

haven't had much time to spend here as of late, but i figure its about time for a new contest. so this time around we will go back to an old favorite of mine.

What was the most recent movie you saw, and what did you think of it?

I will draw a winner on August 31, and they will receive some fobs/lanyards that i have made.

Take care all, and have fun.

I know I am a newbie, but I'll go for it.

I saw The Bourne Ultimatum. As far as a series of movies this is a solid one. In the last chapter of the story, the scenes and locations were superb. I really liked all of the locations, my favorite was the roof top chase filmed in Morocco. Not overdone on effects and the plot is a good one.

Solid movie, the series would be good to rent all 3 on a rainy day.

I went to the movies with my friends and saw Live Free or Die Hard with Bruce Willis,

It was pretty darn good, my favorite seen was when he was fighting the asian lady. I think I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD

The last time I went to the theater was for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It might have been OK if I hadn't read the book  This movie was like speed reading the Reader's Digest condensed version of the book. So much was left out that it was barely recognizable.

Mr Brooks

Post by ozspyder »

Thanks for the contest.

The latest movie I saw was a few weeks ago when I went to see Mr Brooks. I'm not a huge fan of Kevin Costner, but this role seemed to suit his acting style. Dry, removed and showed more of his skills than I have seen in his other films. Overall not bad, but wouldn't say that I'd rent it out on DVD if I was bored. :p

Pathfinder - very cool movie - a little mysticism, a little love story, viking raids, and it even makes mention of the evolution of edged weoponry as the main character announces to the natives that they have steel weapons that will shatter their wooden ones, and armor that wil defeat their stone arrows. definetly worth the rent!

Just saw The Bourne Ultimatum. Jason Bourne would definatly give James Bond a run for his money. The guy is just a bad ***. I really enjoyed it.
Next on the list for us is Stardust.

Thanks IL.

Thanks for the contest!

I just got back from seeing Knocked Up. Its a better movie than I thought it would be, but the girl I went with got more of the jokes than I did, as I haven't had the pregnancy experience yet... :p

Last movie I saw was Harry Potter. Better than the last one, but at the same time, too much was left out (a trend which I predict will continue for the last two).

Thanks for the chance IL!

Bourne Ultimatum. Pretty good in my opinion, even if that shaky camera made me want to puke...

I saw Bourne also. Decent movie but not much plot.

I caught Drumline the other night on cable, I was surprised at how much I liked it. Good technical work and a good, somewhat original storyline to boot.

Simpsons - it felt like an overlong episode, but that's ok.
I recommend it, if you like the series. I enjoyed it. :)

Cool contest idea, thanks!
