Re: I Don't Get The "Spydie-Flick."

I'm not a flicker. And my fingers are too long to middle finger flick. The first time I saw it, I didn't even understand how people made it work, then I realized they must have smaller hands.

Thumb rolling is plenty fast for me.

They've been showing a tanto PM2 since at least last Blade Show.

Re: Would you pay up-front for a Forum knife?

As with my last post, I'd question the necessity of even discussing prepaid forum knives. We tend to over dream and over suggest when it comes to a forum knife. Did Sal indicate there was any need for this prepayment talk? Maybe I missed something. I'd let the Spyderco crew figure out the business e...

Re: Forum knife 2020 - model poll

In the past, Sal has said he likes to make forum knives something most people can afford and carry. At $202 in standard format, and 3.58" blade length, that is not the Shaman. I tend not to get overly worked up about the forum knives. If they make one, I can afford it, I like the design, and it's a ...

Re: K390 & Corrosion

Seems pretty unlikely that dirt is offering any lasting protection. More likely a coincidence. Have you bought identical items put one in the dirt and compared it against a non dirt treated item? That I'd be interested in.

PM2 lightweight seems like a no brainier. If this isn't in the pipeline, someone at Spyderco isn't doing their job.

Re: competition for the Para 3?

If you are partial to compression locks, which I completely understand, I am as well, I don't believe you will find a better knife for the size, materials, build quality and price outside of the Para 3. Regarding weight, staying at a 3" blade, you will be hard pressed to come in under the 2.4oz tha...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

Guy, this is NOT the place to converse with each other about what Sal has said. It has become tedious to find what’s new. Weird title for the thread, then. You’d think “what Sal has said” is exactly what we’re supposed to be conversing about. No. Go talk about it in the thread where he originally p...

I don't think twice about knocking those edges down.
I almost always do this. A medium fine fingernail file works great and only takes a minute.

Re: Murray Carter in December's Byte!

So when I consider all these things I say to myself at this price point why not just save and buy one directly from Mr. Carter? You could basically say the same about every collaboration model using that logic. The Spyderco Carters appear about half the price of a Carter made knife and for many peo...

Re: First Spyderco knife to obtain in 2020?

Hi, I'm kinda new to the knives and at the very of my hobby, so I don't really have a lot of knives yet - few Vix, some budget-friendly CRKTs and Chinese Ruike ones (they just everywhere in Ukraine, apart from our local Skif ones and Grand Way from China). So, I want to go to the more premium and e...

“Works Best” is not the same as not able. The comp lock on my Ikuchi hardly touches the back 50% of the blade, that is just over 1.25mm.

Re: Change in price of Spydercos in 2020?

Hi Darby, I don't think MAP will change from 30%. That seems to be the standard in the industry these days. I will say that MAP and not selling to Amazon has increased our dealer base and most are pleased with the business model. We still have some solutions to find with Europe and export to other ...

Re: Change in price of Spydercos in 2020?

MSRP happens at little dealers like gun shops and Mom and Pop sporting goods stores. Anyone with a website going for a slice of the pie is at MAP with just a handful of exceptions charging MSRP.
