Sam,

The work is done by forumite BobLeeSwagger.

Knifeknut,

The texture of the G-10 should be rougher because of the etching. I don't know how long it will last because it is my first time experience with this. But will updater later on.

The work is not expensive at all. Just send $10 for the first knife then $5 for each additional knife. That is cheap. And it really highlights the handle. I am starting to dislike all the black handles. This just dresses it up a bit.

Hello Sal,Carlos,Tique

For a long time user of the Spydie Stainless steel handled pocket knives I must say some type of checking or grooves would be welcome addition. But the cost. First, the handle scale would need to be at least 1/2 to a full scale thickness to do this. You are taking away ...

My Ideal would be the ATR with .20" thick 440V, VG-10, ATS-55 blade and .25" thick Ti handles with textured CF overlay and the indexing holes.

Also, the Wenger with 440V, vg-10 blade .19" thick and .25"thick To handles with the compression lock.
Now that would be nice.

Sal,

By tumble do u mean the Stipple meathod you see in the rough finish on the blades of Japanese knife makers?? Or do u mean an orange peel affect not buff to a polish degree just a mat finish to provide more grip and still looks nice.

Ok Now we have,

Injection molded Carbon Fiber=IMCF
Formed Carbon Fiber=FCF
Lamated Carbon Fiber=LCF

I think that works. Sal any plans for future models to use carbon fiber in one form or another. I already ordered three CF Civilians. Can't wait till they get here.

Mike,

I have asked this question before. Sal told me that the tang runs 3/4 length into the handle material. Pretty much a mortise tang but with zytel and rubber inserts. Hope this helps. N it is strong.

Hey Carlos,

I read that over at the Spydie forum at BF. I would love to see a molded CF handle on the Temperance. I think it would be awesome. And if it is molded the nested liners would not be a problem in terms of extra costs. To me CF looks great alone, without all the polishing. Let see what ...

I think this is a question that have bogged our minds for some time. I believe the older and hopefully more refine we get the simpler we try to make our lives. By this I am in no way putting down any knife or knife company. There is a soft side of me that would like the knife I use to be as simple ...

Why do u polish Carbon Fiber???

Hello Sal and fellow forumites.

Now this is another question that has been on my mind for sometime. I have owned at one time or another folders with CF handles. Most companies including Spyderco polish the CF to a smooth flat finish. I know that this makes it look really nice. The weave pattern ...

Compression Lock release

Sal,

I have seen pictures of the Versivuis(spelling???) and the Gunting. On the Versivuis the lock is on the left side liner. While on the Gunting the lock release is on the right side liner. Bram Frank want the lock on the right side so the user would not have to change hand positions to close ...

Sal,

Does that mean u will make more Carbon Fiber Civilians, I already have three plainedged ones on order. Now could u make some plainedged with G-10 too. Also the green g-10 and blue g-10 too. Those would be real collectable. I would buy at least 5.

For a folder that size I think most of us would want an adjustable povit pin. Dual liners. I think most of the ELU's thought it would not be strong enough folder. And as a gentlemen's knife it was not dressy enough. So that is why I think it did not sell well.

Just my opinion

Sal,

Thanks for the info. Great to know that there is enough handle material to this knife.
