Mine, out of the box, exhibited acceptable sharpness. It slices paper without issue, and i wouldnt call it "Dull" at all. Sharpest knife I own, out of the box? Nope, but it's acceptable as a usable blade.
I'm curious what it actually is...Zirpro UprYZe infused?

I met Tom Hardy on the Venom set in SF. I'm 5'8" and he was about the same, maybe a tad bit shorter. Funny, considering he played 7ft tall Bane in the Dark Knight Rises...

I started on Rec.Knives (USENET)...to the original Knifeforums...to being a very early Bladeforums member (Oct. 1998)...to being an early USN member...They all have/had their little quirks, personalities, etc. along with a few folks who think they run the place, or feel they are of some elite status ...

Endura plain edge is clipped to my right leg "Sap" pocket. Fully serrated Delica is slipped in between the waist and pant belt, "Appendix" carried. Both fully capable, and if lost or damaged, won't break the proverbial bank to replace.

Hopefully, it is more resilient and durable than the original. My original has a bunch of lock play that Spyderco can't fix due to no parts being available.

The knife on The Martian isn't a Spyderco, it's a Victorinox Outdoorsman Hunter Pro.
