Re: Your oldest spyderco that you carry

My oldest carry knife of all is my trusty old stainless Endura II PE that I got in the mid-90s, and took to Iraq and Afghanistan. It's been through **** and is still the sharpest blade in my knife case, and I'll probably take it with me on this next deployment as well.

My newest acquisition is a ...

Re: Pawn Shop Spydercos, good or bad idea to buy?

Pawn Shops can be a gold mine of good deals if you know what you're about. For instance, I located a small pawn shop in North Carolina that had four brand new Spyderco Endura II desert tan FRNs for $50 each plus shipping. I gave two away to a couple of deploying buddies, but I still have the other ...

Re: Your "most worn out" Spyderco?

Mine would have to be my stainless Endura II PE that went to Iraq and Afghanistan with me. Lost of scratches, scuffs and swirls in the stainless scales, but still a nice, tight and SHARP knife after all these years. It's missing one of the clip screws, and the clip has been bent back into place a ...

Re: If you could bring one discontinued Spyderco back?

Full sized Calypso with G-10 scales in multiple colors - Foliage Green, Olive Drab, Desert Tan, Blue, Crimson...oh, ****, just a smorgasbord of colors.

Love this knife, and it's at the top of my list to obtain.

I have two original Micarta Calypsos, and they were my favorite knives for many years.

Dear Mike,

I can't wait to see those new subdued blades. Dare I hope that the Foliage Green Endura could one day come with a black blade? That would be a truly awesome thing, and I would buy two of them!

It would be pretty cool to see a Coyote Brown Endura with a black blade, as well.

If the ...

Another Endura, Another Deployment...

Hey, fellow Spyderco nuts! It's been a while since my last post here, but I'm overseas again, this time in Afghanistan, and I'm beginning the work on another testimonial about my favorite Spyderco, the Endura...

I bought a nice new C10BBk at the Fort Hood PX right before we shipped out, and I am ...

"Health and Safety grounds" Hmph.

Sounds like more nanny state BS to me.

Next thing you know, ALL cutting tools will be banned and destroyed, so that we can ALL take a huge evolutionary leap backwards into a new age of scrabbling helplessly at modern materials with our teeth and fingernails.

Will ...

Tolerance for this kind of nanny-state tomfoolery is going to come to and end one day, and then maybe we can expose this crap for what it is and destroy it.

I'm sick of seeing grown men who are as helpless as little babies because it's a crime to be a man.

Got on the phone with Spyderco, and I now have a new clip on the way.

Spyderco has definitely got customer service refined to an art.

The only way I could ever be more satisfied is if they came out with a sprint run of full-sized Calypsos in all three edge styles! :D

My pocket clip disappeared!

Oh, snap! There I was...

Riding around in the GSA van, doing my business, and I dismounted to go to the Post Office, where I had to open a package. Lo and behold! The pocket clip on my Foliage Green Endura 4 is GONE, snapped off, leaving a ragged edge. I didn't even feel it let go, and I looked all ...

Just two nights ago, I was at a local restaurant enjoying a late dinner of steak medallions and avocado sauce over fresh French bread, and I was using my SE Police model to cut the meat, as they had only given me a butter knife with my silverware. Considering the fact that the butter knife wouldn't ...

My response to stupid questions is usually something like this:

While you're there, enter the lottery for the OIF Native III! I wrote Spyderco a letter while I was in Iraq, basically telling them how I'd been carrying one or the other of their knives for several years, and a several weeks later I ...
