My pocket clip disappeared!

Oh, snap! There I was...

Riding around in the GSA van, doing my business, and I dismounted to go to the Post Office, where I had to open a package. Lo and behold! The pocket clip on my Foliage Green Endura 4 is GONE, snapped off, leaving a ragged edge. I didn't even feel it let go, and I looked all over the place after it broke, trying to figure out where it gave up the ghost.

The only thing I can figure is that it must have snagged on something as I was climbing out of the van, but you'd think I would've felt a tug or something.

I suspect that this clip was weak from the get-go, because I still have an Endura II that I snagged coming out of a hatchway, and the pocket clip halted me in place as it caught, and I definitely felt a tug on the edge of my pocket. The clip bent, but I was able to take it off and gently bend it back into place, and it's still holding up like a champ after ten years.

Anyone ever have this problem?

Ditto, but mine was a VG-10 Caly JR. They sent it free of charge. Usually it cost $5 or so.

Got on the phone with Spyderco, and I now have a new clip on the way.

Spyderco has definitely got customer service refined to an art.

The only way I could ever be more satisfied is if they came out with a sprint run of full-sized Calypsos in all three edge styles! :D

i've only lost two clips/spydies... both in africa.

the first... i lost the clip of my pacific salt in the mufumbwe district of zambia... must have snagged on something as i climbed out (crawling on top of seats, over peoples' heads) of a standard-sized bus with about 120 people or so crammed inside of it. go figure... still had the salt, though... now it's on a lanyard.

second was a scorpius, lost in a taxi cab in lusaka (again, zambia). i don't think the clip failed, though... think the weight just caused it to come out of my pocket.

considering all the knives i've carried, and the whacky stuff i've had to do, losing one clip and one knife ain't too bad.

:spyder: I blew the clip off of one of my dodos, I took it as a sign and now carry it clipless. :spyder:
