I'm very sorry to learn that one of the original legends of the Spyderco forums has passed. I learned so much from Deacon over the years. The guy really loved his kiwis. :) Rest in Peace, Deacon.

I am a long-running fan of the JD Smith. Until now, I never had an original PE in micarta - only the SE. It is definitely an excellent combination of style and function.

The reissues are always very cool, but the originals prompt a sense of nostalgic satisfaction I can't get from anything else. :)

Hey everyone - it's been a while. I couldn't resist sharing this little horde of NIB golden age spydies I recently picked up. They truly look as new as the day they were made. I feel pretty lucky to have been able to purchase them.

I am a mushroom enthusiast. I confess to using opinels quite a lot - they are incredibly thin, which is really ideal for mushrooms. Spyderco doesn't have anything comparable. I also appreciate their ease of sharpening. A Centofante or Jess Horn would be good options. :)

I hike around southeast Alaska a lot, and tend to carry a SE dragonfly salt or military the most. The ATR 2 in G10 always feels fabulously grippy in the hand, even when indexing into an alternate grip.

I am a fan of the Tasman Salt or Spyderhawk Salt for mushrooms, but often use a mili, because it is my most frequent carry.

I am a fan, and hope to see it in the world of salts!
