Re: 154CM - Development, Properties, and Legacy

I did notice that Spyderco never really used 154CM much (I think just the hollow grind manix, and the ATS 34 spydercos), even when Benchmade, Microtech, and Emerson basically built their entire line ups on the stuff.

Is there any particular property of the steel that stands out?

Boring and blocky is part of the charm. It's like when you get a reissued vintage g shock

When was the last one, the grey one? Love that they kept the old school barrel clip

Nice, that belongs with the other #user15v photos

Anyone try these "cheap" bonded diamond stones?

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Conversely, are there issues sharpening softer steels on metallic bonded and resin bonded diamond/cbn stones? I remember seeing warnings from certain vendors about it.

Like will I cause accelerated wear from sharpening $10 Dexter Russell's on one?

More thin grinds please on whatever model. New models and designs are fun, but my preference is thin grinds

You can't preorder sprints in general

I like the k294 mule. Now you can complete your 10v/pma11 collection!

The steel that started the tool steel revolution

What was the first sprint/exclusive that came in it?

Part of me wishes the G10 one would go on a diet and lose the aggressive jimping, but I'm sure die hard manix fans disagree

There's 3 (?) versions of clamps available for the r2, each with their own pros and cons. Contact gritomatic directly, they're pretty helpful

Does the zdp/hap40 come laminated from Hitachi, or is it done by a processor like takefu ?

I'll take an exclusive delica/endela/endura in g10. I really wanted the g10 police 4 because I love full liners and backspacere, but I cannot use a 4"+ knife
