Re: Any butchers ?
I am a meat-cutter but I wouldn't classify myself as a butcher as I only process components, no slaughtering. However, on my paystub I'm classified as a butcher. I started in 1974 and at the moment, I am semi-retired, but as long my back and joints hold together, I will be done with all the bull$%#@...

Re: Do you ever wish you only had 1 knife?
For me personally, I blame the internet. I don't have a very large "accumulation" of knives, but I do have examples from different manufacturers. Any one of them, I would be more than happy to have as my only pocket knife, from a $50 Buck to a $300 ZT. However, since this is a knife forum ...

Re: Had you bought it first...
Actually that's the reason I bought the PM2. I was looking for a lock that was comparable (in action) to the Axis lock. I briefly considered the Manix 2 but was more drawn to the compression lock. I am not a huge fan of liner/frame locks and really don't like back locks at all. So I decided to get w...

Re: My thoughts about the Positron
As I mentioned in your other thread, I used BlueLube to smooth out the action and it worked wonders. I also use it on my other bearing flipper (my 0450cf) and it helps it with it's action also, even though it doesn't need much. Just to add, I don't think it would matter too much what lube you use (a...

Re: Solution to the Positron hard to unlock issue
Well done and very concise. I've gotten somewhat used to the detent so I doubt I'll make a detent ramp but if I wanted to that's the way to do it. The one thing I'm glad you mentioned was the pivot screw and how hard it is to get it loose. I made a half hearted try when I first got it, (I wanted to ...

Thanks for the lead, now bookmarked. Very interesting read (somewhat above my pay grade though).

Re: Canadian UKPK
Yet they haven’t changed any law about carrying or owning a one hand opening locking knife. You just can’t import one now. Sometime last year I saw a news report for Winnipeg,(where I live) that stated something to effect of 95% off all stabbings in the city the previous year were using kitchen kni...

Re: Para 3 Blade Play Question
You know something, I used to stress about blade play. I'd have my knives fall shut but have slight side to side play. I spent hours trying to find the balance, but on some, I never could. Then when I bought my first Spyderco's, a PM 2 and a Para 3, guess what, yup still some blade play. I found if ...

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
Just asking.... If i already have spyderco folder no-legal... what should i do with those? In Canada did they became collectable i mean double priced? So we had the right to carry straight blade... but not folder? Seams werd.... As bacmapei pointed out, folders are legal (at least the definition of...

Re: Game over Canada? WW’s stops importing Spyderco.
So I was browsing the Warriors and Wonders site (like I often do) when I noticed their new announcement on the front page. It seems they are no longer importing Spyderco knives due to the CBSA ruling. I mean, I just don’t get it. Why just Spyderco? Why not Benchmade, CRK or any other brand? Don't w...

Re: Number of Spyderco Knives in your collection
I bought my first Spyderco's in December 2017, an all black PM 2 and an all black Para 3. I really dislike lock back folders, even though I have a couple, leaving alot of Spyderco models out, however I do like the CF Chaparral and may have to make an exception. I just bought my newest knife, the CF ...

Re: Looking for opinions on the Positron good or not so good
My Positron just came in and I have had it a couple hours now to play with. First off, I found the quality to be superb, fit and finish is stellar. The carbon fiber is absolutely beautiful, especially how the light causes the carbon fiber to have a 3D look to it (I don't have any experience with CF ...

I just placed the order for the Positron from Blades Canada, so I will update what my findings are later when it comes in. Should be interesting, so many knives to buy so few dollars to spend.....

Re: Looking for opinions on the Positron good or not so good
Thanks for the info everyone. I see that the Positron has some liker's and some not so much. Kind of what I expected as that is the general consensus out in the forums. I'm happy that the action seems to be ok and not any issue with the pivot bearings. I seem to be drawn to quirky designs and so far...

Looking for opinions on the Positron good or not so good
I am in the market for a new knife. I certainly don't need another knife and have a hard time justifying purchasing another one, but I want to anyways 'cause I don't care. Perusing the website of a large west coast Canadian knife/sword retailer, I see that the Positron is on sale for a rather large ...

Re: PM2 to PM3, happy?
I bought both at the same time and both are in my rotation. However, I do find the Para 3 gets the call more often than the PM2. I just find it more comfortable in hand. Oh, and even though I much prefer deep carry clips, the stock one on the 3 is fine and as a matter of fact, I really don't find it...

Re: What are you listening to?
I have to admit that most of the seventies, all the eighties, nineties and the early naughts were seen through the bottom of a beer bottle so my memory is a little foggy at the best of times but one of my all time favourite concerts was Johnny Winter. Ah yes, lots of really great bands have come and...

Re: What are you listening to?
Right now I'm listening to Rush "The Spirit of Radio". I literally have music from the 20's right through to the 2000's, however, I grew up in the 60's so I have a definite lean towards rock and blues. When I have someone new in the car, they get quite the puzzled look on their face when w...
