I would also like to see some more "classy" FRN colors like burgundy, navy, or gold if thats possible. You can also go the Kahr Arms Delica route and try to match common pants colors like khaki and denim.
The fastest way to get new variants would be inlays of different materials in a standard G-10 ...

Re: List Your Dream Spyderco
A Chaparral with stonewashed titanium scales, keep the XHP steel.
A Chaparral Sun and Moon, with better (imo) colors, like blue sky g-10 and gold/brass Sun inlay, keep the black and mother of pearl.

Re: Is this supposed to be here?
It's not a mark, its a hole all the way through, I'm thinking they accidentally started cutting the lock notch in the wrong place.

Is this supposed to be here?
I bought an Endura in CPM-20CV and the lockbar wasn't fully seating into the blade notch, I took it apart to check it out and found this L-shaped hole next to the blade pin. Has anyone else seen this?

Opinel style twist collar lock? The handle might have to be similar to the Shaman in thickness.

Re: Do we really need a finger choil ?
Generally, with less than 3” blade, a choil feels natural. Over 3” the choil seems unnecessary, and even interferes with cutting.

Re: "As close to perfection as possible" folder from Spyderco?
+1 For the Chaparral, especially the Ti versions. A matte/beadblasted Ti scale might bring the price down a little.
Now we just need an Endura sized chaparral or an Endura with a stop pin.

Re: Titanium chaparral- can we expect more?
The Ti versions have 2 screws, then 2 removable pins sandwiched inside the scales to hold the lock assembly. The other versions have 4 screws, the FRN are all visible, in the old CF two of the screws are under the scales.

Re: Titanium chaparral- can we expect more?
I came here after a 4 year knife buying hiatus to post this exact same question. I bought the original Chaparral in carbon fiber (s30V), then the stealth titanium. After using the titanium Chap for a few months I sold everything else, PM2, Enduras in Hap40 and superblue, delicas, Junior, Chokwe ...

Folder designed for food prep
What would a Spyderco folder designed from the ground up to be used for food prep look like? What features would you want to include/exclude? Something like a 4 inch folding chef's knife with a compression lock sounds good.
I think some design features would be:
-Thin 4 inch blade ( roughly Endura ...

Re: New Chaparral in 2016?
I'm looking forward to a new Chaparral in the sub-$200 range. I think a wood scale would be nice, or brass with black inlays, also has anyone tried a Damascus type handle scale in a production knife? I think that could be really nice looking and could work just like the current titanium scales..in ...

Re: Sharpening S30V
Thanks for the advice, it helped a lot. I was able to get them sharp, my conclusion is that the issue was not the steel, but that they are all Taichung knives and they have a noticeably steeper edge grind, at least the ones I have. They needed a steeper angle on the sharp maker and the strop and ...

Sharpening S30V
I have been having trouble getting my knives with S30V as sharp as other steels I have. My sharpening method is the sharpmaker, all 4 steps , finished with 4-5 passes on a strop with gold compound. In comparison with the same method VG-10, Hap40, and S35VN reach the same, better sharpness which ...
