Re: How and Where i carry my Spyderco delica 4.

I wear sweatpants (stay at home dad ;) ) or gym shorts (I like to run) all the time so I carry IWB at about 4 o’clock often. Right behind my hip bone. I have jogged thousands of miles with a knife there. Not the greatest location for corrosion prone steels but I have always found it very comfortabl...

Re: How best to "Will" your Spyderco knives to people?

The general subject of what happens to your knives when you're gone reminds me of this forum posting. I cannot remember if it was on here or BF. Anyway, the gist of it was:

My fear is that when I'm gone- my wife will sell these knives for the prices I told her I bought them for...

Full serated or full plain edge. I have zero personal interest in a combo edge.

Re: Lost Knives

Good luck with the insurance claims Elena86, that's miserable. While it does not guarantee accidents will not occur in losing or misplacing items I can only suggest developing a very standard routine and overall system. My overall carry location of EDC items never changes regardless of apparel. Pen/...

Re: Spyderco Urban

The urban is a solid little slipit that I consider a light use beater type of knife in my personal use. I appreciate it for times when I know more blade length will be needed than available in the squeak. Factors of the low (relative) price point, FRN handle, and slip it is great when doing mechanic...

Re: Whats the smoothest spydie you own?

I too have found my Sage 3 to be the smoothest.

It's actually on me today as I'm out & about. I've really enjoyed the Sage series overall and the individual knives.

Re: How often do you clean your sharpmaker rods/sharpening stones?

I also use the Bar Keepers friend powder and use it as necessary. A basic sponge will work fine or perhaps a scotch pad if you've been lazy about cleaning them.

Re: I'm considering the Sage 3

Marty, do you have any of the other Sage series? The Sage 3 is a wonderful blade and so very smooth in deployment. It is a bit different as others have stated and fully enclosed. However, I notice it the same in carry ( read: minimal) as with most other seydercos that I carry IWB at 4 clock. I'd get...

Re: Recommend a new Spyderco

Sage 1 or Chaparral 1 are both excellent knives at your price point yet will be more approptiate for your dressier knife needs compared to your existing collection in my opinion.

Re: Comfortable carry of full size folder (i.e. Military) running or at the gym

Glad your belt solution has been working out for you. The SpiBelt in all black would be my recommendation if you're going to be running- pretty similar concept. If I'm just wearing gym shorts I carry a Squeak or DF IWB almost all the time. If it's positioned at the small of your back the short knive...

*Welcome* The ladybug H1 was my first Spyderco actually. I purchased it as a non rusting extreme ultralight hiking/camping knife that fit the role perfectly. I'd recommend it for Colorado Trail/AT/PCT hikers all day/everyday.

Re: Dragonfly Centering Questions

My ZDP DF is the stiffest to open by far compared to my others. I may get around to adjusting at some point but have yet to bother so far. As for the blade centering is slightly off but no where close to rubbing the scales. I've thought about the glass fiber scales a few times but the added weight (...

Re: How to get a Spyderco factory edge back on the sharpmaker.

Hi there, @Surfingringo I appreciate your concise information you have shared in this thread and others. Pardon my ignorance on this, but is "formula" also applicable to the serrated edge knife? Can an additional 40* microlevel be applied as one side is ground flat and one is serrated? Fin...
