The only thing I remember about that show
was that he parked his Thunderbird inside his home.

Karmann Ghia ! Karmann Ghia !
I don't remember no stinkin' Karmann Ghia.
It was a Sunbeam Alpine Tiger
with a 260 cubic inch Ford V8.

We are all victims of " Disease Mongering ".

"Disease mongering refers to drug companies’ involvement in informing the lay public and health professionals about the illnesses targeted by their products. Typically, drug promotion is claimed to intentionally distort perceptions of the seriousness or ...

Re: Abandoned Places

COVID put the icing on the donut.
Before COVID there was already urban sprawl,
hollowing out cities with migration to suburbs
or to rural areas.

In my opinion, COVID accelerated the trend.
Tunneling into work on the Internet,
Door Dash, 65-inch TV screens, high speed Internet,
Amazon and UPS have ...

Misophonia was the subject of an episode of Criminal Minds.
Could it be a motive for murder?
Here is an article in Psychology Today about the program.

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters

A small Great Black Wasp dragging a hefty spider.
Black wasps are not poisonous but can stun another insect.
They then dig a hole, put the host in the hole,
lay an egg on the host and carefully cover up the hole.
The resultant larvae eats the host
then emerges as a pupa to continue the life cycle ...

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo

I reached down to pick up a T-post
and when I stood up I had dozens of burs
in my t-shirt, trousers and work gloves.

Evidently they are the aptly named Spanish Needles.
After you pull free the seed pod
some of the tiny burs on the end of the pod
do not come out but continue to burrow into your ...

Non poisonous snakes get a pass from me.
That looks like a big copperhead.
Personally, I will not give one a pass.
A couple of my dogs have really suffered from their bite.
I have no sympathy for copperheads.
Good picture, though.

Re: Knife as emergency can opener?

I used a P38 in field exercises at Fort Knox
in the Armor Officer Basic Course in 1969.
Nothing like sitting in a 50-ton tank (an M60)
freezing in the snow eating cold C-rations.
But it could have been a lot worse.
I would go on to be stationed in Germany
instead of Vietnam.

A friend of mine who is in the Jaguar parts business
explained "gray market" parts to me.
For example, Jaguar orders 5,000 water pumps
from their Chinese manufacturer.

Once the order is filled,
the manufacturer continues making
another 5,000 water pumps
and sells them on the "gray market".
They ...

Misophonia Poll

Other people eating makes my 13-year old grandson angry.
He has learned to tamp down the anger reaction
and retreats to a different room
if anyone looks like they might eat something.
At school, he does not go to the cafeteria
but plays Pokemon with some friends.

Kingami parachutes are cute.
But how do you fold them to fit in a pack on your back?
Once deployed how do you steer them?
