I hate coated blades. I made an exception for this one though. This is a sharp looking knife.

Re: I have to be honest, flipper detents need to be stronger.

Every knife I have seen out of Taichung has a week detent and it does effect my purchasing decisions. My Southard had a very weak detent. My Sage2 is probably the only one that isn’t easy to wrist flick open.

Re: Heat Wave/Heat Stroke/Heat Exhaustion: What are your advice/thoughts?

Watch out for caffeine. I drink iced tea by the gallon in the summer but on the really hot days I limit or avoid it. I also usually only drink one cup of coffee if it is supposed to be very hot out. Like EvilD said, once you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. It is important to be proactive an...

Re: Heat Wave/Heat Stroke/Heat Exhaustion: What are your advice/thoughts?

I drink daiquiris by the pool on the two hot days we get here each year. :) I am much more experienced at managing cold than I am heat.

Honestly though, it is just about keeping your body temps down. Take breaks and stay hydrated. Being hydrated helps you stay cool.

Re: Asking for advice: How to restore a (just slightly) blunted tip?

Grind the spine down. If you do not have an extra coarse bench stone you can use sandpaper. Tape a piece of 100 grit to your kitchen counter and grind the spine away. You can then move to 220 and then 400 grit to give it a smoother finish if you want. I have done this many, many times. This is small...

This may be a necropost but I must say;

Flames? Really? For $15 I would really expect there to be at least a dragon on there. Keep shopping!

Re: Heavy Duty Work Clothing: Your Pick?

My job will destroy any clothing so I don’t buy anything too nice. My employer pays for everything and I mostly wear cheap dickies canvas pants, red wing boots and our company shirts, hats and jackets. It gets pretty cold here so I save most of the clothing money for thermals, wool socks, gloves and...

Re: Apple slicing...

Sometimes I cut them up and sometimes I don’t. I often eat apples with peanut butter and I also often eat apples with my breakfast. Scrambled eggs, sliced fruit and cottage cheese is a go to breakfast for me. Those are times I cut them up. Other times I just chomp right into them and sprinkle a litt...

Re: Centofante love?

I'm sitting here with a Centofante in my cart, and I had a thought. Why not just get fancy scales for my Delica? If the Centofante is similar to a Delica, I feel like I could just dress mine up a bit. I'm probably the most indecisive person on the planet! Haha. I like the look of the Centofante, bu...

If BHQ will do the Dodo which is a long discontinued model then i don’t see why they couldn’t do the recently discontinued ManixBL.

Re: Centofante love?

I love the 3 and 4. We really need a sprint run 4.

It does have one liner for the clip.

It may be a lower hollow grind but it is 2mm stock and slices well. The 4 is a sold performer.

The palladium bug is classy.

Re: Manix titanium ball bearing cage

i wish spyderco had used a different material than plastic for the g10 manix. i’ve never thought the plastic looked or felt right with the g10. it’s fine for the lw though. The Manix cage is an intricate part. Making it metal requires machining a small part. These aftermarket cages are over $30 and...

Re: Manix titanium ball bearing cage

My copper cage feels just like the plastic one did. It was a little tight at first but I only had to open and close it a couple dozen times and it smoothed right out.
