NFL is back!

#1

Post by TkoK83Spy »

That time of year again, the NFL season starts tonight! I know we have a handful of members that like to chat about football every season so I figured I'd start up the thread for this year.

We have a lot of new members this year too, anybody a football fan!? Who's your team?

(don't comment in this thread if you are going to complain that football players are overpaid, someone knelt 10 years ago, they get in trouble, etc) Nobody cares about all that.

The NFL is back... because the Eagles saved it! :grin-squint

I've probably said I have to stop watching this league a thousand times but we all know thats not going to happen... Even if the Eagles didn't prove me wrong last year, I'd still be watching. LOL! :discguised

All joking aside, feels good to have some live NFL action back on.

I like them when they beat the Chiefs.

I also think they're going to be one of the worst teams in the league this year.

They just signed Amari Cooper a little over a week ago and he instantly became their best wide receiver. Well literally just a few minutes ago he announced his retirement from the NFL... I'm almost certain they'll finish last in the AFC West.

Amari being 31 years old, has signed 2 contracts throughout his career, no major injuries. Smart move on his part I think. Plus, why get destroyed for a team that won't even sniff the playoffs this year anyways!

That was unbelievable with Carter!! The lightning delay really screwed up the game. Neither offense could get back in sync after a very entertaining first half. Onto Brazil tonight for the Chiefs/Chargers. Hey Nick, who you think is going to win that one and why?? ;)

That whole spitting incident with Jalen Carter was disgraceful. One of the weirder ways to admit to being a lowlife. The league needs to suspend him if the Eagles won’t - multiple games too. Of course I expect the league to just sweep this under the rug and move on like it never happened though.

As for the Chiefs vs Chargers game… well let’s just say, Brazil is a massive market and the NFL will not let thi$ opportunity $lip away. Chief$ are going to win this one.

Conspiracy theories aside, I do think the Chiefs are the better team in this matchup though, so I’d still probably pick them to win either way.

Also, a season opening international game is stupid and shouldn’t be happening. There are too many international games in general now. They’re not special anymore, they’re kind of a nuisance, especially for the teams playing in them.

I agree Nick . International games should never be opening game of season . It’s all about increasing and tapping new revenue , fans at home have to suck it up and wait to see them . Plain wrong in my opinion . Dan

International games and all the required streaming services to be able to watch all the games now is definitely a nuisance! Really stinks for one of the teams playing in these games to be considered a "home game" when they play in some random stadium where you might see a Barry Foster jersey from 1996 and it's a Chiefs/Chargers game! But I get it, the league wants to keep padding its pockets and know that guys like me, playing in 4 fantasy leagues will shell out what I need to in order to watch them haha :zany

My wife said last night, "oh football is back on? See you next year" hahahha! At least she's a good sport about it.

Oh yeah, giving exclusive rights to multiple different streaming services might be the worst idea the league has come up with in a long time. YouTube only for tonight's game was just stupid. The league trying to force feed all these different YouTube kids down our throats is already getting obnoxious and we're only two games into week one.

I'm upset that my Chiefs lost. I mean, really. It should have been a slam dunk for them.

I knew the Patriots weren't going to be good this year but they still suck so bad. Looked like they didn't improve the team at all since last year.

I did the same thing. :grin-squint

If you want to watch a replay of Buffalo’s come back, the NFL posted it on their YouTube page -
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6xgKuqeA_ ... MgcmF2ZWJz (link because they do not allow embedding)

Watching those two teams play after watching the Patriots vs Raiders game made it look like two different leagues. The difference in talent level and on field experience is staggering.
