Re: The IMPALA maybe Elmax?

The Impala is my only Spyderco I bought Second Hand....... Still love it, even though I did not use the gut hook once. What about Elmax as a Steel for a Sprint run? Holds a Sharp Edge and (supposedly) will not rust even during tough hunting trips?

Would definitely go for 2 (1 each of my ...

Hot work steel in dishwasher

All Maxamet really was ment to do was be the hot work steel equivalent of A11 that's a cold work steel as far as wear resistance is concerned.

I suppose they needed A11 level of wear resistance in a hot work environment so the alloy content was balanced for that type of use.

So from Carpenters ...

Well, our Sales manager, factory manager and Eric felt that adding another sprint into current Golden schedule would create issues with current deivery so it won't happen in Golden until maybe 2015. The next best opportunity is to try to squeeze a sprint into the Taichung factory. Selecting a model ...

Cuscadi glow scales

Just received my K390 Mule with the green "glow in the dark" scales, and some extra blue scales for the S110V (installed them myself). Glow is extremely bright for the first few minutes, then slowly fades off. Still bright enough to find it in the dark Wood (if exposed to light ...

EASIEST Solution

How about no Spyderco branding? Plain box, no logo, no hole-nothing to identify the knife as a Spyderco except that it was purchased directly from Spyderco. Ebay buyer beware! I realize Spyderco's brand is incredibly valuable to them, but for the intended purpose of this project, not so much. It ...

There is nothing special about the original edges on new knives. Spyderco's are normally sharp or very sharp but other than that you never can tell what angle they have. Normally (8 out of 10 or so) they are between 30 and 40 degrees. I think 40 degrees is a high angle for the steels on SPyderco ...

The (original) Edge of my Mule XHP dulled faster than I expected (skinned 2 small deer), thought about reshaping the whole edge to 20 inclusive (and polish). Did this on a Kershaw Elmax blade and worked fantastic.
My other two Mules (K390 and Elmax) still have the first Edge and are razor sharp ...

Hello Guys:
First: Thanks to Sal and all the others for the idea and concept of the Mule. By now I have 3 to compare (one faster dull than the others) and can't await the next run. Any News on a release date of #18?
