Thanks for the replies everyone, I will keep checking these sites until I find one! And I dont mind paying MRSP, it's bad enough trying to get decent quality stuff where I live, that most of my shopping must be done online now...

Our terrain here varies, but I am certainly not looking for $4k top of the line and not looking for Walmart special either. We can stumble through the dark together.

Hi Apophis, I did check out the dealer locator for my area (which, currently there are none), although I would prefer to buy direct from Spyderco, makes me feel safe knowing that it will undoubtably be a genuine Spyderco.

I reeeeeally want a Surly Moonlander but they're super expensive.

I've seen a few of those bikes around, and they are definitely an eye catcher. The big fat wheels is supposed to make it much easier riding thru sand, snow and other places more conventional tires ...

Just wondering, why IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to buy a para2 from Spyderco direct. Their website lists all models as Currently out of stock.

What type of riding are you planning to do? I am new to mountain biking and I went against all the advice online and on the forums on buying an "entry" level bike. I went ahead and spent over 4k on a new mtb :eek: with carbon fiber frame and components.

from what I read, 29'ers is a great size ...

IG, there are virtually no mountains where I live, but a lot of shield country and hills. Plenty enough for me to get out and get some exercise and enjoy the outside

Thanks for that VashHash! Although, isn't the Phosphor-Bronze washers meant to keep the blade and steel liners from rubbing and add a bit of smoothness? Wouldn't this negate your insight?

This has probably been hashed out here a lot, but I just wanted to say that after 8 years, my Delica just seems to get smoother and smoother. Ice fishing is great, no need for a boat :p and usually you can catch a hungry bugger pretty quick. Only drawback, if you wanna call it that, is drilling the holes, the ice was about 4 feet thick there :eek: makes for some good exercising!
